over long term her sure won't, but we might have to grin and bare it that we're going to be weaker at the CB position

Teams that are weaker at CB (and DB's in general) tend to use more zone defense out of necessity to mask the coverage deficiencies.  It can work (like it did here in 2013) when you have a dominant pass rush and communication is good in the secondary.  Still, a zone inherently has holes, which good QB's are more adept at exploiting, especially when the pass rush doesn't get home in a hurry.  Also more vulnerable to a great slot receivers like Larry Fitzgerald (or Doug Baldwin lately).

That being said, Josh Norman and Kurt Coleman make this secondary better than we were in 2013 regardless.  Losing Bene is a blow though, and I don't think just having a 34 year old Tillman back from injury and Finnegan off the street isn't a cause for concern against teams that can be as explosive as AZ or SEA.

Glad we have an offense that can score somewhat at will.  That makes us a much complete team this year.  And I'm not crapping on the defense by any stretch.  This is still a very good defense.  Just legitimate concerns come playoff time in the secondary.  Our front 7 hopefully will mask some of them, and Norman & Coleman are playing at an elite level.  We have IMO the best offensive line of the NFC contenders.  Our QB should be the MVP.  Ginn is running by DB's at will, and if he can hold on to the ball, he is scary- in a good way.  We dodged a bullet with Olsen.  Our run game is dominant.  To be Week 15, we are incredible shape.

We put a safety or LB on the slot receiver and Arizona/Seattle will torch us.

We put a Colin Jones or Cortland Finnegan on the slot receiver and Arizona/Seattle will torch us. I'd bet money that Shaq can kick both their asses in any agility or quickness drill.

If you don't have speed mind as well play as physical as possible.

I think the big question is whether we shift Finnegan to the outside, or keep him in the slot and bring in another guy to man the outside.

IF we chose the former then is that guy on the roster/PS? I'm really not confident about that.

Have faith in GMan though.

A blessing in disguise is our next game is vs NYG, who will have Nicks, Randle and Harris to test our CB rotation sans Norman.

If we can't handle them, then I'll really start to worry.
