How chippy will it be on Sunday

These teams have a history but it's not like a division rivalry. The last time we had a playoff bye we came out a little overhyped and made some stupid penalties.

Pete Carrols speech yesterday emphasized winning in the 4th quarter.   I want to see fire but controlled fire.

I expect a hard, physical game but not too much chippiness.

I love Panther vs Seahawk games, they are physical as  hell but they do respect each other and that keeps it fun to watch. I'd be shocked if it got out of hand.

This is my belief too. Our guys don't like theirs, but they respect them. You're gonna see some slobber knockers, and some jawing but I don't think it will be anything other than a very physical football game.

Also, I'm not really worried about RR "reigning them in". I think Ron knows these guys he knows how they play and what makes them tick. What happened in the Falcons game wasn't Ron pulling them back. If anything it showed him that they needed to be encouraged to play their game, toe the line, just keep it within the spirit of the game.

These games are never that chippy overall.

Now that 89 isn't here there isn't really a chippy matchup to start it off.

The only guys that ever went at it were when Sherman and 89 would forget everyone else existed.  None of our WRs play that game and it doesn't appear Seattle's do either

With Jimmy Graham not playing I don't think it will be very chippy. He's the only guy that the players were getting into it with in the last matchup aside from that light dust up between Lynch and Luke which was nothing.

None of our WRs are talkers so I wouldn't expect any back forth between them and Sherman. Bennett will yap but nothing will come from that. Baldwin and Norman has some potential but I don't expect them to really be matched up that much. Baldwin and Finnegan is the most likely spot that there would be any fireworks.

Finnegan is no longer coached by Mr. Play After the Whistle Jeff Fisher

    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
    • I was ok with the mentor aspect of keeping Dalton, but wow has he fallen off the deep end. The slow behind the WR interception was awful. I keep hearing our WRs created no separation, but on that particular play dude was wide open and Dalton couldn't get it to him with a clean pocket. Next year, we need to address the backup QB spot haaaaaard!
