It's CJ's time to step up, or get out

Ealy and Johnson both had fantastic games against the Cards in last years playoffs.

The vets like CJ raise their game to another level during the playoffs.

CJ knows he won't have many more opportunities for a ring.

I have no doubt he will be bringing his A game and leaving it all on the field this weekend.

Why is it not a conversation for this week when WE NEED HIM TO SHOW UP? It's not as if he is gonna read this board and get sad and go into a shell. It is however a week when with Allen down, and we have seemed to struggle with pressure from the ends most of the season, that we need him to have a breakout game. The title of the thread could have been worded better i will admit, but only for diplomatic reasons. In the end, this is his chance to shine and secure a place on this team. I'm rooting for him as I said in the OP, but seriously though.....this game (and possibly the superbowl) will literally make or break his future with the team. Like it or not, he needs to do something.

I 100% agree with you that he needs to step up. He needs to be our x-factor because our front 7 needs to get after Palmer, in order to reduce the pressure on our secondary.  Totally with you that he's been absent for most of the year as well.

My thing is that it isn't a "put up or hit the road" kind of mentality.  I'd rather let the cards sort themselves out in the offseason, than bringing CJ's future with this franchise up the week before the NFCG.  For me, I think his nine seasons of service have earned him  a certain level of respect.

But if he leaves it all on the field this weekend, he won't have anything left for the SuperB owl. What do we do about that?

He will have a full two weeks to recover.  That, or we can have the grounds keeper go out after the game and retrieve whatever CJ left out there on the field.

Well, that makes sense. I guess I should stop taking these clichés so literally.
