It's still surreal

Not sure how I truly feel about this. Sports used to be my thing. Not sure I like sharing the Panthers. I mean, I love her to death. But part of me kinda want my Panthers back. Does that make me a bad guy?

When both of you are screaming Oh Cam or Oh Luke, will it really matter then?

And to answer the question, nah, I'm used to it, I knew since October. Okay, maybe since November. No bets, didn't want to jinx it.

Completely understand where everyone is coming from.

I haven't actively participated in any online forums in probably 7-8 years.  Been lurking here and opposing fan forums for years but have never joined.  Yesterday, I finally broke down and joined the Broncos forum and now here today.  Just too damn excited about the fact that we are in the big game, despite the adversity we had to overcome this year.

I just feel so fortunate to be part of this amazing ride and can't wait to see us hang another 30+ on the orange horses.

Its unbelievable how far we have come.

From the 2-14 season.

To Cam struggling to be a pocket QB and our defense still being run up and down the field.

To Thomas Davis' 3 ACL's.

From Shula being ultra conservative. Making Cam play a different style.

To Rivera becoming riverboat Ron. Leading us to a 12-4 record.

Cam struggling in the divisional game.

To all that happened last year off the field.

To Benjamin's ACL injury.

We have made it.

I still cant believe it

I haven't been able to stop and really think about it too long, or let it soak in... because if I do, I get the feels...

If we win this thing, I swear I will probably cry harder than I have ever cried over anything in my life, and I probably haven't even had a good cry in 20 years lol... It will be that joyful of a moment...

The Panthers has been my escape/distraction during the adversity that I've been going through.

Can't begin to express what this season means to me, more so than just a die hard fan of our Panthers since the beginning - if that makes sense. It does to me.

One more thing.

As much as I love hard fought, close games, I enjoyed every second of the absolute domination that our team put on display against Cardinals!!

Even more than lilsmitty!

What? I mean, I like that she wants to know more about football and all that. But...I am just not sure that after all these years I suddenly have to share my Panthers with her. She already owns everything else in my life. Don't I deserve just one thing for myself?

Im a little concerned for you bud.  24 1/2 years you've been made to "go to your room" to watch football?

uh, no.

You go knit in the corner or make me some nachos.  The big screen belongs to daddy and that's just the way it is.

Personally, this year has been pretty surreal.  I find myself letting go and getting personally upset about things the Panthers did (like the loss vs. Atlanta, blowing leads, etc).  Normally, I'm really good at compartmentalizing the games.  I don't mind letting the good feelings flow, but I've been way less able to keep the negative stuff out of my head(Did Odell Beckham get in here?).  More personal investment?

Maybe I'm just a bad fan because I'm not 110% invested ALL the time (I know some of y'all think that!).

But now, it's just so freaking cool.  I love our team is getting the respect and attention they deserve.  Our coaches and players have been making something special the past few years, and I'm so thrilled to be here for the ride.  Hopefully this isn't the last Super Bowl we get to be a part of for the next decade or so =)

You are not alone. I just wonder what it will feel like when we win it all. I know that I will feel happy. It will be kind of weird to feel "self-fulfilled" as a fan.

On the real, I am wondering how long elation is going to last before it's back to business (and life) as usual. I mean I have been waiting for my true team to win the Super Bowl for a lifetime. Once it's done, it's done.

I suppose that I can start rooting for a dynasty.
