No one has given a legit reason why the Broncos would beat us

Everyone picking the Broncos is going off "feeling", or just hate for the panthers. I've seen NFL network, FS1 and ESPN all week and everyone that picked Broncos said something like "I have a feeling Peyton", or "I'm rooting for Peyton" or something of destiny or a fairytale ending.

All the guys at NFL films are picking the panthers to win by double digits

You are correct, I am feeling that the picks for Denver are either Peyton nostalgia, former players with more fans/friends on the Broncos staff and team, or unathletic, fat analysts like Peter Schrager with painfully over simplistic narratives like ooh wow that Broncos defense eh?  Ooh yeah defense wins championships keep Newton in the pocket Brady sacked, etc.

Meanwhile, it seems every analyst with a handle on X&O's, whether they are film guys like Greg Cossell or former coaches like Billick, are not only in the Panthers' corner, but are closer to predicting a double score win.

It could certainly happen, but Carolina definitely looks better (or at least equivalent) on paper in almost every way. That said, the game's played on the field... but I believe that the guys are prepped, focused, and ready to steamroll some Broncos on Sunday.

Generally when the number one O and Number one D meet. The D side wins. Tampa vs Raiders. Seahawks vs Denver. Some that I remember. The difference is our Defense isn't a bottom feeding defense and their offense isn't a top tier one either.

I hope it's a blow out. But I don't think their D will let us score often. Not in the beginning at least.

This exactly, Denvers offense is a MAJOR libaliity for them in this game, against this defense.

Carolinas offense is by no means a liability against this Denver d.

We should be able run on Denver's defense rather well. Taking out the fact that I'm a Panthers fan I still think we should win. If I had to bet by picking the winner there is no way in hell I would pick Denver.

How in the world are experts picking against us? They don't even offer good reasons as to why we should lose. It's unfuging believable. I have to wonder if you forced these experts to put money on the game if they would change their tune. It's like when experts came out picking the Jags to beat us. What the fug? Didn't even give good reasons why we should lose. It's Panthers hate. It's hatred toward the South. Or it's inexplicable. The tip is that they don't give good reasons why they are making their pick. They give "I feel a tickle in my balls about Denver" type reasons. Unreal. They should be fired. God I would fire them in a heartbeat for being incompetent.

Denver's own coaching staff and players have to mystified to find themselves in the SB. Denver's team, just on the eyeball test, doesn't appear to have #1 anything. They must have racked up stats against teams that are complete ass. I mean horrible. We've already played and beaten the doors off of a damn slew of teams this season better than Denver.

    • overall agree on the draft grade as a whole on on each pick, but every time I read (and I have read it more than once) that we "gave up two firsts" for Bryce, I am confused. We gave up the 2024 first, but we swapped 2023 firsts, so we didn't give up anything there. We did give up our former first rounder in DJ, but I don't think thats what you mean as one of the "firsts" we gave up.
    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
