Getting Benji Back

Really just throwing out obvious stuff here, but it's nice to look at. We've said it all season and I think it's worth repeating: a season without a true number one WR helped Cam learn how to spread it around. Really excited to see what our passing game looks like next year. BTW, Olsen's numbers for 2014 and 2015 are nearly identical, so no KB didn't change things much for him at all.

Kelvin Benjamin 2014 - 73 receptions, 1008 yards, 9 TDs

Philly Brown 2015 - 31 receptions, 447 yards, 4 TDs

Devin Funchess 2015 - 31 receptions, 473 yards, 5 TDs

Ted Ginn, Jr 2015 - 44 receptions, 739 yards, 10 TDs

Obviously, these guys aren't just going to post similar numbers with Benji back in the mix. But there's no reason Olsen can't continue to post 70 receptions and 1000 yards. It'll be interesting to see how they play with the starting lineups, who gets the most snaps in the slot, etc. This is an impressive top four WRs, in my opinion. Funchess is going to continue to hit the weights and add bulk. With Benji, Funchess, and Olsen blocking downfield, I think reverses and quick outs to Ginn and Philly are going to increase. This is going to be a fun group to watch next year.

24 hour rule apply to the Super Bowl, too? I'm ready to move on.

KB, Ginn, Funchess and Brown, why would we want to add another WR so high in the draft?  The way DG approaches the draft I could see it if he was BPA but IMO there will be a better value than WR.

I wish I could find the article where R. Proehl was discussing Hill and said he had made great strides from his first year and heading into TC before he got hurt.  IF the article was correct than Hill would make #5 and a draftee would only end up taking a roster spot so we didn't lose him.

The only thing holding back our current group is Ginn's hands, in my opinion, and that's something he's just not going to perfect at this point in his career. You can't just go out and get a speedy receiver who can run good routes and has great hands with the 30th pick in the draft. Well, you can, but you probably have to get pretty lucky.

If Cotchery is gone, I'm sure they'll add someone, because Bersin is probably gone, too. That gives us a spot. Doubt we can afford to add Jeffery. I'd like to take a look and see who is available in free agency at WR and DE.

I imagined I'd be much less interested in next year if we lost this game...hitting the reset button for our first Super Bowl win and all that comes with it, but I'm actually pretty excited.

Because the first on your list KB is coming on an ACL tear. It's hard to say now if he will be the same as we saw of him before. I know he is looking good, but that isnt in pads and getting hit and making serious cuts in a game situation. I sure hope nothing changes, but either way grabbing a young WR in the 2nd or 3rd wouldn't bother me at all.

I'm not buying this.  KB was never known for crisp routes, and burner speed.  He is a size nightmare that can high point the ball and come down with it, all the while being a redzone nightmare to defend with Olsen out there with him.

I feel very good about his knee.  And while yes, he could have some setbacks, this was long enough ago that I don't have to worry.

I would say theres a better chance we draft a TE since we have absolutely nobody on the roster who can do anywhere near what Greg does.  Can you imagine the impact to the entire offense if he went down?  It would be more devastating than losing anyone other than Cam because we have no depth whatsoever behind him.

Keep in mind that lots of guys tear ACLs and come back just as good as before.  I mean, we can talk about TD, but there are a ton of other players who tear ACLs and come back to be just as good as before.

I think KB has a big hole in his heart because he missed this season, and the only way to fill it is with more wins and a championship next year!

Being what he is, I think it just makes our team better and more difficult to defend.  So long as the O line can keep Cam clean...

These days an ACL tear, while still a major injury, is not going to derail you for multiple seasons like it used to. Just look at Adrian Peterson from a few years ago, or eve. Todd Gurley just last year. Gurley tore his like halfway through the season, and then came back guns blazing by the start of the season. Given that KB tore his in training camp makes me feel very confident that he will be ready to go, better than ever, hungry as hell to go out there and destroy opposing defenses.

From everything we saw before his injury he was going to come out this year and do some serious serious damage. I expect a stellar season from Benjamin in 2016.

Gettleman is going to draft the best player available in each round. That's how he rolls. And for those of you that say it depends on his big board, but of course, but there is no way you're telling me that he will exclude WR from his board. The same can be said for any other position as well.
