Elliot, Henry & Shepard.  NICE.

But yeah, we will need defense for sure.

Like you, I'm generally finding much better picks on offense.  If the mock drafts are accurate, and G'man really goes BPA, he could surprise us.  If he can set us up in good shape on the Dline and the Dbacks in free agency, then yeah, bring on Elliot, Shepard & Henry.  That would be awesome.

I agree that would finally answer the critics about getting Cam help, but for whatever reason I feel like our defense will lose players in the future due to playing well and getting paid! So its important to keep drafting defensive players.

Even though we were a top scoring offense everyone will always say its only bc of Cam so I don't think we will have to overpay that much for any offensive players.

My ideal offseason would be similar to yours I think.

FA: Dline: Mario, JPP but I am thinking more like Robert Ayers/Coples/Fairley/Irvin type. Dbacks: Eveyone talks about Weddle but Im not so sure but pick up some type of CB/S.

This would open us up to a true BPA opportunity in the draft. Elliot, Shepard & Henry would then be amazing even though still unrealistic

I've been doing similar.   DE & DT are my highest priority, then OT & CB.  And I try to prioritize these positions in rounds 1 & 2.  But BPA means if RB Ezekiel Elliot is there in round 1, for instance, I take him.  (I won't draft an LB or QB in any round.)

C is also a pretty high priority.  Am open to a good WR that fits our offense, also keeping eyes out for TE  & FB.  Generally not picking these until Round 3 & below.

I've had the hardest time finding a quality OT.

I focus on DL in rounds 1-3, still if ones there in fifth I get.

I normally wait on DB, history has shown you can find starterlater. Example- panthers both bene&Josh where 5ths.many other good/great DBs where found in the late rounds . focus 4-7 rounds

OT focus is 1-3, just having a time find one I like without reaching too much.

In terms of value I try to follow this:

1. QB- no problem here for the panthers. I cannot t begin to state the value of having a young elite QB. I see 3-4 QBs going before pick 30....... That's huge in getting a good first rounder.

\

\

\

\

2. DE\pass rusher - gotta stop QBs and they cannot throw while on their back

3. OT- this spot has took a hit in recent years in terms of value. Just look at superbowls teams starters at this spot.

4. WR- I just prefer offenses. It's a passing league.

5.CB- the pattern continues.....

6.LB-  every team wants a Luke or davis.( This is inside guys, 3-4 OLB are #2 ) this position has changed in terms of 4-3OLB. That now what a strong saftey use to be.

7. C/OG- in past years this would only be C here for me. But I learned the value of having good OGs, especially if you have a short QB.ala Brees wilson

9. S- someone has to be last. This changes if you're talking about a Ed Reed type.

10. Im normally against drafting STs, but i see the rare time where its needed. Imo in value; kicker, punter, long snapper.

If my previous draft was The Trenches, this one has to be The Edges.  Almost the polar opposite.  Used Walterfootball's board.  If Hargreaves is there for us at #30, I could see Gettleman himself hiking up his shorts and sprinting to the podium.  Also, I know resigning Tolbert doesn't really leave room for Gronkowski, but in my ideal world we let Fozzy go, keep three RBs (Stewart, CAP, Wegher) and two FBs (Tolbert, Gronk).

Here's one I really like, used the Composite Board which doesn't seem very realistic.  I did one before this and got Ezekiel Elliot in the 1st and had Corey Coleman, Doctson, and a slew of other guys that should be gone when we pick available.  Then in the 2nd I had both Henrys (Hunter and Derrick), a couple OTs that should probably go in the 1st, Braxton Miller, and a few others that should be long gone by our 2nd pick available.  So I didn't even consider that mock legitimately feasible.  This one is slightly more in the realm of possibility, but would still be a dream draft:

This one's another bit of a dream draft.  It's crazy how so many of these mocks have guys falling so far.  We get a sure handed WR, the top TE, a S with potential, a top 3 RB who's crazy shifty with good vision, and what looks to me to be a very very high potential slot CB (Bene should be playing outside anyway).  Only problem is that no DE was really a good fit at any of our picks except Dodd in the 1st and Treadwell was too good to pass on.

New board was up, "With The First Pick" so I gave it a spin.  Seemed the most realistic of all I've seen so far (with a couple outliers, Darron Lee still available in the 3rd for example.  Dunno if something's come out that would cause him to fall or if it's just usual fanspeak silliness).  My usual 2nd round favorites were gone (Hunter Henry, Sterling Shepard), which means the board is more realistic according to my rankings.  We get Ogbah in the 1st, but that's just because they had Dodd and Bullard go before him, which is possible.
