Deangelo Williams posts his Panthers termination notice...

I think he's now posted a video about it on FB, can't tell b/c my sound doesn't work, but all the comments are leading me to believe it another rant.  Dude needs to grow up and move on.  He made millions here playing a game and continues to do so in another place.  Us letting him go worked out best for both parties involved.

Honestly didn't know players received termination notices like this, thats kind of crazy

I would also think Pitts organization would want to talk to D.Will about this too. If I was their GM I'll be asking him do you want to play here or Carolina, cause it seems like you're not happy in PA

Afterwards, Deangelo showed up in Pittsburgh 15 pounds lighter and had a good season. Amazing what caring about your performance again can do. I am glad he used this as motivation to improve himself.

deangelo williams showed up to pittsburgh's OTAs the same way he left carolina...sloppy and out of shape.

tomlin basically gave him an ultimatum to report to training camp at 220lbs or less.

The parallel between how Cam reacts when he loses and how Deangelo reacts when being cut and called ineffective are not drastically different--they're both competitive pro athletes visibly expressing that failing effects them in a big way.

Cam got flak for his SB presser because it's not how "a losing qb is supposed to act", insinuating that he should be more gracious in defeat and professional in his dealings with the media.  Most of us here defended him. Meanwhile, you are all chastising a former player and trolling his twitter because he said he uses getting cut by his former team as motivation.  Because he should "understand why he got cut"?  He doesn't even say anything bad about the panthers in his tweet lol.

Most pro players likely feel the way Cam acted after the SB loss.  Most pro players likely feel the way Deangelo does after being cut and called ineffective.  These two guys are just unafraid to communicate their true feelings on the matter.

I know he got paid more than his output warranted, but I'm not going to give a guy flak because he wants to prove he can still compete; I don't know the guy personally.  Whatever, more power to him finding what it takes to attain success and another nice pay day.

are you the guy that writes deangelo's letters on a plane?

Could have used DWill blocking Miller/Ware and Steve Smith getting them out of cover 1 in the Super Bowl.

DWill bailed out Rivera and saved his job in 2012. He also was a part of the 2013 run.

Now the Panthers have RBs behind Stewart that are suspect and it showed in the Super Bowl. You may be a RB, but you need to pick up the blitz/block to play on Sunday. Do not hang your OT out to dry by widening his angle and releasing on a route without a shot on one of their pass rushers. A pat of the hand on a shoulder pad does not count.

Those of you complaining about DWill and Smitty voicing their displeasure with Panthers management better accept it, because it will be common place. There are core vets on this team now that hold the same ill will toward management - players you love and respect. Some do not even want to be in the presence of Gettleman and will leave the room.

Love Gettleman or love the players. The truth will come out.

    • Only thing I really see it doing is possibly making Tepper listen if a different play caller can't run the offense because of limitations. New hire, someone who hasn't been watching Bryce for the past 3 years up close may be able to talk some sense if he sees that he isn't able to get the job done.

    • Not sure there is anything that will do that outside of Young actually being a legit top 12 QB. Where he won’t need excuses made for him.  It is just as likely to multiply them.
