Your talking big bucks. Probably can't afford him...that's why Coples I guess.

Just went down....sign Coples and this off season will be off to a good start... (for the D anyways). So he is free negotiate with other teams...interesting.

While we all know JNo's value, I think Gettleman would jump at getting 2 1st's for him, or anybody not wearin a 1 or 59....

I don't think this has anything to do with trying to get two firsts for norman, and has everything to do with trying to sign him long-term concurrently.

Let him see how much other teams might be willing to pay for him, and his agent might be more willing to accept what gettleman believes to be a fair offer.

I'd be surprised if anyone does any serious negotiating with him, two firsts is a lot to give up.  At least it gives us more time to work towards a long term contract, rewards us if someone wants to sign him, and potentially costs less than the exclusive tag.

So if a team ends up getting him do they give up two first round picks of their own?  Or are we awarded two first round picks like a comp pick?

I'm pretty sure it's the other team's 2016 & 2017 1st round picks.

We would get the picks from the team that signs him.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
