I imagine Andrew Norwell is going to get paid

By the way, Norwell's contract may be expiring but he will be a restricted free agent next year so we can guarantee him back in 2017 for around $3M and I'm pretty sure that with the new CBA we aren't allowed to extend him until after his 3rd year anyway. May be different for UDFAs though. I know it's that way for drafted players. Kony and Trai can't be extended until next year.

idk why we couldn't keep Norwell and Trai. Guards aren't Cap killers.

Top OG, Kelechi Osemele, on the market this year got $11.7M/year which is probably where Trai would slot. Next two OG's, Brandon Brooks and Jeff Allen, got $8M/year and $7M/year respectively and Norwell is better than both of those guys.

That isn't necessarily cap killing but paying two guards $20M/year combined is a lot. Ultimately, I think we keep both but there is certainly a possibility Gettleman decides to only keep one of them. There is a lot of money that will need to be shelled out to keep the players on rookie contracts and keeping all of them is not really realistic. That's price of drafting really well.

It's also worth noting that Osemele can also play Tackle, which is why his contract is a biiiiiiit higher. For a while, the Raiders didn't know if Donald Penn would come back or not, so they kind of over paid him because they didn't know if Osemele would start at G or T. Penn comes back so they're slightly overpaying for a top tier guard. I don't think Turner is gonna get a 58.5 mil contract, but he'll definitely get paid like a top 5 guard.

Another thing to keep in mind, Gettleman has stated numerous times that he does not draft players to breed for other teams. He's gonna try to keep both.

I have no doubt he will try to keep both and that that's what he wants, but it's really hard to predict what happens once players hit the open market and teams start bidding up for players. He's fairly frugal and I don't know that he would consider getting in a bidding war.

UDFAs are extension eligible after two seasons.
