So according to the very bright and very football intelligent guys at FO, Dave Gettleman's an idiot.

32. Carolina Panthers

GPA: 2.00
Highest Grade: C+ (Kiper, Silva)
Lowest Grade: C- (Prisco, Kadar)
Comments: Quantity does not equal quality, at least when it comes to Panthers cornerbacks. Dave Gettleman admitted to drafting for need in trying to replace Josh Norman, but no one was impressed with the trio of corners he came away with this year. Multiple commenters questioned the second-round selection of Samford's James Bradberry; their two harshest graders actually thought Round 5 pick Zack Sanchez was a better pick than either of the two cornerbacks Gettleman drafted first. The Carolina GM has generally earned favorable reviews for building a Super Bowl roster after inheriting a cap-strapped mess, but this is the second consecutive year the Panthers have finished in the bottom five of these rankings.

They literally just took a bunch of draft grades from across the internet and made a GPA. FO doesn't really have anything to do with it. It's a high click:low effort article that makes them money.

"As we do every year, we have compiled snap reaction grades from several reputable dumb ass draftniks for our review on which teams generated the best, worst, and most polarizing feedback following the draft."

Well, I guess Igo was right... we ain't winning the April Championship Award again this year..... tell those guys to call us in March after we hoist the Lombardi, so we can refresh exactly how bad their idea of collating dumbass draftnik's grades was.

Still waiting on all the haters that dogged his 2014 draft to go back and re grade it.  Including the UDFAs that had to be the best draft in the league that year and top to bottom and one of the best recently outside of the Seahawks a few years ago.

poo, KB, Ealy, Trai, Norwell and Bene would all go in the 1st round in a redraft.  Bene is a very good corner when playing on the outside instead of the slot (still decent in the slot).  Ealy is the weakest of that bunch, but even he has shown tons of flashes and is probably the best DE from that class until Clowney shows something.  I think he's gonna make the jump this year.

Then you throw in UDFA Philly Brown who is a starting caliber WR and Tre Boston.  2014 was straight money.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
