Exhibit A on what Ray Rice did to Greg Hardy and the Carolina Panthers.  Apparently video proof is FAR less valuable than public perception of an innocent man in the eyes of the law, with Rice not even on the list, at all.  Grandstanding from limp wristed kooks whose pitchforks were nowhere near Tampa, Florida, week 1 2014.

Hating sports figures is ridiculous. Grow up

I have no issue with hating someone in the context of sports rivalry.

For it to go beyond sports hate requires they do something beyond just sports to earn it.

Lame list is lame.  I suppose his objective was reached.  We all clicked the link for this garbage.  This article sucks.  Hardy at 4 and the writer says that he should be #1. LOL.  Murder and purposely trying to end others seasons and careers is better?  Hardy was wrong, but he is not Satan's child.  The media really spun the crap out of the entire Hardy incident for ratings.  What Ray Rice did was way worse.  He is suspiciously missing from the list.  Why?  Their is video of him knocking a woman out cold on video and him dragging her by her hair out of an elevator.  Yet Hardy is worse.  LOL.  Also, Cam belongs no where near this list.  What has he done that is so awful.  This list should be for people who have broken the law and killed or hurt or attempled to injure  other people.  I am speaking to you Donte Stallworth who killed a man while driving drunk and Burfict, who is without a doubt the dirties piece of garbage in the NFL.  Rae Carruth convicted for having his pregnant girlfriend killed also belongs on this list well before someone like Cam Newton.

Come on guys read the first page. There was no reason to but Carruth, Hernandez, OJ or Rice on there because 3 are murderers and the other knocked out his wife. You dont need to include them on the list because everyone already knows that they are pieces of poo. I agree the article sucks though. Adrian Peterson the 10th most hated player ever??? He shouldnt even be on the list. And people might hate Cam but there's no way anyone hates him more than Vontaze

Its a list for .ost Hated, not biggest criminal

I can see how they wouldn't be completely synonymous, but they're certainly not mutually exclusive.

Carruth, OJ, and Hernandez. Ok, totally different animals from most of this list, I get it. But Rice? Is he really that different from Hardy? It's just inconsistent, that's all.

The optics in the Hardy incident were different, thus the harsh treatment and inconsistency.

Sure were different.  Much different.  If Hardy at his size would have had the same intent and done the same thing, it WOULD have killed her.  How many have ever even listened to Hardy's 911 call?  http://www.wsoctv.com/news/listen-greg-hardy-911-call/105810036

Based on the internet comments I see, Cam should be much higher on that list.

That's kinda the sad part.

Objectively speaking, Newton legitimately belongs on this list.

Outside of the Panthers fanbase, there genuinely seems to be a lot of dislike for him. A good amount of it of course coming from fans of teams he's beaten (and enjoyed beating).

Is it fair? Obviously I'd say no. But then I'm sure Patriot fans would say the Brady hate (#5 behind Hardy) isn't fair either.

That's sports, though. In sports fanhood, the player on your team is a knight in shining armor. But that guy who beat you last year, he's an a--hole.

And on that front, frankly I'm hoping the rest of the league has reason to hate Cam, Luke, Olsen and every other player on the roster for the next decade or more.
