Cool. J-No showed up for Tolbert's charity event

I was glad to see this for several reasons:

1) Will always appreciate for J-No for all he did to help us win in 2014 & 2015.  He made those seasons special, both with his play and his personality (especially 2015), so it's nice for us fans if he can continue to have positive connections to Charlotte and the Panthers instead of continuing to nurse bitterness and keeping a feud going.

2) If all of J-No's talk is over, it means the focus can be on football.  Less risk of an ongoing distraction and media constantly focusing on J-No.  We can move on....

3) Thinking of Ron's picture in his office.... "teammates are for a season, friendships are forever."   Cool to see evidence of the kinds of deep friendships formed on our team last season, and the fact that those bonds are continuing even as some players move on.  Tolbert spoke of being very close to J-No.  Thrilled J-No would show up to support him.  I know that must have meant a LOT to Mike and his mom.  Football is a tough business with the frequent uprooting of moving from team to team for many players.  It's good to see some friendships survive that.

I'm reminded of that awesome pic of Harper, Allen, Coleman, Kalil & Tillman chilling together somewhere about a month ago:

I still don't understand how some interpret a players problems with our FO,as said player saying fug the fans.

When that group of fans value the GM/front office over the team/players it is quite bizarre. Their desire to become apologists for Gettleman at the expense of the family, their need to attribute others' success to Gettleman, and their willingness to put blinders on regarding the failures of Gettleman is on the verge of the inane.

Any player with that section of the fan base will be ridiculed and demonized because the front office made the move, and the front office can never be wrong in the eyes of these fans. Any historical importance or value that player has will be tossed aside by these fans until the front office instructs them to honor that player at a future date.

how does a fanbase (or section of it) having a particular opinion about the front office actually affect the team other than if it gets to the extent that they start boycotting games or refusing to buy merchandise?  does it really matter if you support josh norman vocally on the internet?  does it matter if panthers fans in general are behind him?  i think there might be a few more factors at play that are important than that.

you and a few others on this site take what amounts to pretty basic fan banter and  just another aspect of human emotions way too damn seriously.  i would actually put your religious fervor for discrediting dave gettleman on the same level as people who blindly defend everything he does, actually.  you and a couple others in your weird little cult who act like you're too good for a 15-1 football team and that a guy who got fired three years ago and wasn't hired by any other team in the league could have done a better job.

i look at you and see someone who values sentimentality over actual on the field performance.  and that's bizarre to me.  to me everything about you down to your brad hoover avatar indicates obsession with things and times that are gone.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
