every team this year can beat us if rivera doesn't make adjustments from the broncos game.

More than anything, we were beat by players collectively taking turns f*cking up and then not responding to the moment with anything but resignation. We played like the team that kept taking closes losses to Seattle because we were playing not to lose instead of to win. Basically, we earned that loss. It's as simple as that.

i know, it killed my whole vibe. i'm sitting here listening to existential switchfoot tracks while i drive home and wondering if driving into the back of a tractor trailer would be a painless way to go

the first von miller gif i literally froze for a second and had a "hello darkness" moment

I'll tell you. This opens up old wounds for sure, but it is an eye-opener. I haven't personally analyzed the game for obvious reasons, but it shows how we need to be far more creative and not attempt the same thing over and over again.

I think our OLine was just beat by that stout defense as well, and, as the coaches have said, everyone had contributed to the loss, not just Remmers. I still hold the belief that we would've had a better chance if our defense was able to make plays while the Broncos were near the endzone, as the Broncos were able to take advantage of the Panthers being near the endzone. I believe our defense was just as deadly on the Broncos offense. It's just a matter of field position and the way things went that resulted in a Superbowl loss.

I, however, believe that Mike Shula needs to find an answer to this. Quick slants seem to be a good solution, and Funchess looks like a nice prime target. Maybe a couple of plays with Kelvin beating out receivers would help. The fact we have a bunch of options at WR this year should be helpful. I don't think much would help fix our OLine's play except practice and experience, and I have my doubts on Remmers being ready for another 1v1 vs Von Miller.

I still think it's a winnable game if our Defense plays rough and if our Offense can get in a quick pass rhythm. Might be something to note as Cam has been working on short passes as well in the preseason. If we can be quick with the ball before the pressure hits, or if a good design play with cam flushing away comes afloat, I think that could be our counter to that style of blitz. The Broncos offense shouldn't be able to do much, especially with that dent at QB concerning leadership and experience. If the Panthers capitalize on that, and work on their game, I think we'll be able to show the world the Panthers aren't just a fluke.

Denver had 2 lock down corners, hard-hitting safeties and a monster dline plus 2 HOF rush ends. We were out played as much as out coached. They did a good job in finding a weakness and we didnt adjust properly. I never at any point in that game thought I was watching the team I watched all year. Momentum was sucked out after the reverse catch bs.

Definitely opened up wounds. I remember being so downcast after the game. I actually called out of work on that Monday. I had nothing left lol. Thanks for the lesson. I think it was a great break down as to what Broncos were doing. I was disappointed but the lack of adjustments in the game but hopefully everyone learned from the game. I'm ready for week one

Most teams don't have Von Miller and Ware. With that said the refs help them execute blitzes all night because they would back us up every series. I'm over it now and just have settled with the fact that Payton was going to get another SB if they had to shoot Cam in the leg on national television. You can definitely defeat blitzes like that by not being 3 and 10 every series.

I don't mean to be that guy who points out the opposite of what the OP is desperately trying to get across but multiple linemen were beat ferociously on that second play you mentioned.  Including Trai Turner, one of the better guards in the league.  Daryl Williams was also in at guard on that play, and he looked like a turnstile as his guy went right into Cam.

Can we just say that one of the better defenses in league history whipped our asses while at the same time realizing that on any given Sunday in the NFL, if you don't show up this will happen.  I felt like we could have moved the ball on them if a few things would have bounced another way, including the catch.  Once we got one dimensional against that kind of defense it was over.  Momentum in the NFL is critical and we could never get it back in that game.

I don't think less of Rivera for getting out coached (considering he out coached 15 other teams during the regular season), more worried about how flat the team looked in the biggest game of their lives.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
