Panthers look strong after week 1

While I feel good that we're going to have a successful season, I don't think one week is enough to make a final judgement on the NFL as a whole.

Elite QBs are going to make plays, unless you can get in their face on a regular basis.  But even Rodgers made some crazy plays (with major help from WRs).  So I feel like any game we go against one of these better than average QBs, I feel like we're going to give up some points.

At the same time, we played the best D in the league (also the dirtiest) to the wire, despite some egregiously missed calls for headshots.  We played poorly (very uncharacteristically) against the Broncos.  I think that Luke will get our defense tightened up.

This season, it's really going to be up to Cam and our offense to make the plays and respond when we end up giving up a couple of plays per game.  You know Brees is going to make some throws, Evans and Jones are going to make some plays, we just have to respond in kind.  I feel like we can this year.

We don't have CBs that can matchup with Julio or Evans.

I agree with all your assesments except the fact you left out the Bucs. They are improved bottom line its going to be 2 tough games with them.

We were missing Bene, & Kurt Coleman against Tampa last year in week 17 (and Peanut for all of 2nd half)

We were also missing Ted Ginn, Jonathan Stewart.and Fozzy Whit. on offense.

And we won EASILY.

So while I don't take any team for granted, and I see Tampa improving, I still think we sweep 'em

And on not having anyone of quality to cover Julio Jones, etc... Just remember all of those teams that had their biggest star player as a WR. -- Detroit, Atlanta (so many times), Philadelphia, heck even Carolina during the Smitty golden years...

If your best player is your wide receiver, you've given your opponent a problem to figure out, but you haven't got much more than that. Without Montana and Steve Young, even Jerry Rice couldn't make the 49ers into much.

IMO Cam is a lot better than years ago but I think we go back to asking way too much of an offense each week

Tampa has no safety's and a rookie CB on Julio and they seemed fine.............................

You need a new bit CRA, you've playing this same broken tape recorder all off-season. Not many teams have the Cornerbacks to matchup Julio or Evans and yet the Bucs and Falcons are not near the top of the NFC. If they can handle our D Line and still make the big plays you see them make against scrub defences then I'll say we have a problem. Until then, find a new record.

how do I need a new bit when the Bronco's QB (who had never even thrown a pass) moved the ball w/ relative ease against us?

this is 2016....there is no list of who is at the top of the NFC.  Whoever gets their will be at the top.

and as of right now, all it looks like is teams will have to handle our DTs, not DL.   Our CB play often aided our DEs last year too.  Two way street.  DEs don't just help CBs.  CBs help pass rush often as well.

He passed for 48 and 49 yards to his (pretty decent) number 1 and 2 Wide recievers, this is not something we should be talking about as a concern coming out of Thursday's game.

And if teams do have to figure out how to handle our DTs, well then its fortunate for us that we have arguably the best group in the league. If you want to have an agenda against our defence then go ahead, but pick out something that we actually showed on Thursday like our gap control and poor tackling in the backfield. Otherwise you're just coming across grumpy for the sake of it.

1. The Cardinals are overrated. I'll never understand why they were a favorite pick in the offseason as they did nothing to change and were clearly exposed in the NFCCG.

2. The Browns have already been eliminated.

3. The Falcons have already been eliminated.

4. The Saints are doomed for medicrity, but hey, your QB who has your franchise by the balls threw for 400 yards.

5. The Packers are overrated. Some "expert" said they had a dominating defense.

6. The Bucs may be scary, or it's just because they played the Falcons

7. fug Denver.

Here's my issue with the Bucs yesterday.  They literally gave up in the third quarter.  Jameis had 250 yards by midway through the third, and ended up with 268 yards and a pick.  I just can't stand that crap.

Luke McCown looked like Dan Marino against us last year.  We'll be ok
