three of our losses would've been staggering blowouts if we hadn't had cam starting. he's the mvp.

i have to go with kony for disappointment. the writing was on the wall with tolbert and we've all known deep down shula is only what he is because he's got the mvp chucking the rock.

andy lee owns.

Wow. I'm the lone Bradberry vote.

Edit: Not now.

The only reason I say Bradberry is because he has overachieved in my estimation. Lee has been great though. He even went for, and got, a "tackle" when it mattered.

If Bradberry didn't get hurt he'd be my pick but since I picked Greg over Lee for MVP I felt Lee's play each game was worthy of best newcomer over Bradberry who's only been able to contribute in 3 games and less than a quarter.

I picked Kony as disappointment but I'd actually go with someone not in your choices. KK, Funch, Tre, Kurt, Ginn all up there. Although part of Funch and Ginn's struggles is the QB laser focusing on Greg and KB, they've still disappointed. I never expected that much of Kony so I can't really say that he's been a huge disappointment. The Super Bowl was great for him but looking at his whole body of work I'm not sure why anyone thought there was a better chance of him dominating like in the Super Bowl than being subpar and inconsistent like he has been in every other game.

Fair point. But Olsen has played in every game and is the second leading receiver in the NFL even without Cam playing.

I have no arguments against Olsen. I struggle to name an MVP for a 1-5 team, so I just went with the best player from the only win.

I honestly had a hard time not voting Andy Lee the MVP.

Greg should win this hands down.  Glad to see he's leading...

I mean the man is 2nd in receiving yards in the entire league, behind only Julio...  Pretty special.  Got to celebrate that even if the season as a whole has been poo so far.

Oh I voted for Greg because he's been dominate this year but Andy Lee has also been dominate in his own way.

how in the eff am I the only one to vote Shula?!?!?!

I hate 44 of you, apparently...

I'm with you, buddy. I translated it as worst detriment to our team. If we're going strictly by the letter of the word disappointment I'd also vote Ealy.

As far as Cam vs Greg, I mean I love Third Leg Greg as much as anyone but MVP is defined as such to me: whose absence would most hurt the team (in other words, the opposite of the disappointment definition).  That's Cam by a country mile.  Andy Lee is the best newcomer and it isn't even close.  Bradberry's been solid when he's played, he's actually performed at a second round level in my opinion which is kinda shocking considering the situation he was thrown into and popular opinion of him before the draft, but outside of Cam, Olsen and maybe Luke, Andy Lee has been the best player on our team this year.  Pinning Atl inside their 5 three or four times in a row it seemed like actually gave us a shot to win...until the defense allowed them to march 95+ yards and score every time.

Cam was very good vs Denver

Cam was very good vs San Fran

Cam was very good vs NO

Cam was very good the first half vs Minny and then get destroyed by their D (which was more a offensive issue overall)

I think he was meh vs Atlanta

if we didn't have Cam we wouldn't be in any of those games outside of San Fran. MVP of our team

I voted shula the most disappointing.  At least 10 others agree with me.

We are top 10 in every aspect of offense.  With bad OTs, meh WR play and Stewart for half the games.

How is Shula most disappointing when people act like he can't even tie his shoes....yet everything else is a dumpster fire?!

    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
    • It is a popularity contest.  The selection does have meaning though. It is also 1 of the criteria that is considered for the HOF. The game does not have any significance. The team hasn't been to the playoffs in nearly a decade. That's why they don't get primetime national coverage. To the victors go the spoils.
