Predictions on firings if we lose this game?

Gettleman eliminated the stigma of the Panthers being a Mom and Pop run organization.

His tenure has been the most successful in franchise history.

Rivera and his staff will be long gone before Gettleman's head ends up on the chopping block.

Regardless, no one of any importance is taking the fall until the off season.

I think the opposite. Gentleman is feeling a ton of heat right now from the media. Most are putting this season's failures directly at his feet. If the season tanking continues he's going to need to deflect some of that blame and scapegoat some coaches.

He wouldn't do that...

If anything JR should fire him, coaches doing all they can with resources available  and injuries.

Nobody will be fired.

Personally I think that no one will get the boot if we lose. I do want to see Shula gone though

Through 6 games last year our offense scored 672 points, this year it has scored 671 so Shula isn't anywhere close to being responsible for our 1-5 record and won't be fired anytime soon.

Based on our performance so far, you could make an argument for firing Wilks or McDermott but that won't happen either. The problem is personnel, not coaching.

Relax and quit marching people to the gallows. This same coaching staff and GM led us to the Superb Owl last year. Lots of reasons why this season has stunk so far, plenty of blame to go around for everyone (except the new punter), and a lot can be attributed to injuries and age catching up to some players after a looooong season last year.

Now next season, you can bet the rope will be pretty short.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
