TWD Season 7

I guess I'm in the minority, but I dug the finale.

The transition of Rick from being submissive to getting his balls back (in the face of Carl's life about to end, which further proves that Rick is NOT getting father of the year). I liked it. Back on his knees before Negan, but staring him in the face and telling Negan that he's dead already, just a cool moment. JDM absolutely sold that well, too. The "holy crap, he can see straight through me" to the anger of that realization, hidden by the smirk to maintain the demeanor the Saviors have come to expect. Just well done.

Shiva takes a degree of suspension of disbelief, and it was cool to see, so I didn't see a problem with it. Also, of course there are no Saviors watching the perimeter. Dwight said about 20 men would come with Negan. That's what he had. The Dump People were all alongside Rick's people. Everybody (sans Michonne and her eventual back-stabber) was at the gate. Dumb on Negan's part, but I'm guessing that was more a budget issue for production. Less cameras, less angles, less filming to make up for the CGI needed for Shiva.

Sasha storyline was meh. Glad she's gone. It was well-shot, and did well to flesh out the relationship she had with Abraham, even though this should have been done last season before he died. Last season was just such a gigantic cluster that they failed to do so. Showing it now doesn't really do much, and only foreshadowed the obvious. This entire part of the episode was the only complaint I REALLY had.

The fight was cool and all, but the fact that so few people got shot in all that is ridiculous, but it's necessary because they don't have enough extras.

Next season needs to be better. The last 5 minutes really seemed like the show is about to end. The Maggie monologue certainly seemed to suggest it was the series finale. They honestly could've killed Negan, showed Rick and Co. be victorious, have Maggie's monologue, and show a brief "flash-forward" of Alexandria being the peaceful home for them all as they ride off into the sunset and it would've been a good enough end. I can't imagine they do a season 9, but we'll see.

If I or just about anybod had been Negan, Rick wouldn't have finished his sentence. Rick would be dead right then.

That bad haircut garbage chick should've shot Rick when the shooting kicked off and he reached for his gun. The whole firefight was very Ateam like, as has been noted.

Rick would have been dead at the first lineup.

Negan would have been dead 57 times as well at this point.

They just continue to do incoherent stuff for no reason...

Negan lets Sasha sleep in a coffin on the way there? how convenient and driven by no sound reasoning...
Nobody shoots-to-kill Rick or any of the other major opposition?
Nobody from Alexandria kills anyone worth killing on the Saviors/Scavengers?

They are just going to drag it out forever because they can.

THE ONLY HOPE I have was seeing JDM with a full-on beard on Talking Dead. I doubt it, but it would be nice if this was for TWD purposes and they've done the time-jump, and the All Out War arc won't last past the first half of next season.

If they stretch it out for all of season 8, which all indicators really point to, I doubt I will be trying too hard to keep up each week. I'll just wait until the end of the season and binge watch it moving forward.

Don't get me wrong, it is still decent TV and based in a world I love from the comics. But they are doing a terrible job lately by adding new stuff that doesn't make any sense in order to drag things out.

This could be really cool.

    • The conversation I had to have with my Gamecocks-affiliated family members last night when they asked what kind of adjustments were going to be made to help with protection was not received well... especially when propped up by the events of Super Bowl 50. 😭
    • I’m worried SC’s lack of OL is going to prevent Sellers from taking the next steps progressing as a passer.
    • Wild week 0 + 1 but not as crazy as we have seen before imo Kansas St put up a fight, albeit an ugly one against Iowa State only to turn around and barely survive against North Dakota. Looks like this Florida State team might be more like the ACC winners than the 2-win squad from last season. Bama still looks competitive but FSU clearly wanted it more. Frank Reich and Mike Shula are still dumpster fire coaches, but it is fun remembering the 2015 Panthers watching Shula call plays for LaNorris. Speaking of... as much as it pains me to say it, South Carolina looks better than Clemson at the moment. South Florida's thumping of Boise State put to bed any postseason playoff drama for the Broncos.  Tarleton State over Army in 2OT!? Navy is going to smoke them this season. Looks like Wake Forest's strategy of recruiting older players with leftover COVID eligibility to play while pursuing their graduate degree has run its course after barely holding on 10-9 vs Kennesaw State. I've got a few friends from ATL that went there and they were lighting up social media. 😂 Close games for GT/Colorado, LSU/Clemson, and Texas/Ohio State. Nussmeier looked like the better prospect between him, Arch, and Cade. Drew Allar and LaNorris also looked really good. The QB class this season is going to be fun to watch. Tulane whooping up on Northwestern surprised me. Not that the latter is a powerhouse but I wouldn't have bet on that score. Going to be an interesting team to keep an eye on. I thought Kentucky would have ran the score up on Toledo, not keep it within one score.
