Arizona Article: What2Watch4 Cardinals @ Panthers

This article simply summarizes some key matchups this game, and comes up with a prediction. What I find most interesting is how many Cardinal fans consider this too big a challenge, which surprises me, since Panther fans think we'll get steamrolled.

I find it interesting they consider our defense to have a decent rush defense, as stated in here:

Carolina’s rush defense (6th in DVOA) might be the best the Cards have faced

Anyhow, another interesting point they brought up:

D.J. Humphries, OT, #74 vs. Kony Ealy, DE, #94 Ealy notched 3 sacks in the Super Bowl. He’s had 0 sacks since. Humphries is garnering national attention after having his worst game against Seattle. This is a true case of the movable object against a stoppable force.

What I'm getting at is this OT isn't too good, and if Ealy doesn't show up, then well he's garbage.

Then again I'm terrible at any of those deeper meaning type of things, so idk.

If anything, the last picture made this worth it.

Prediction: Carolina Panthers 24, Arizona Cardinals 23

So in conclusion, should be a close game, but I think we got a chance, even without Bradberry.

Then again I said that before and look where it got me the past 5 games.

Anyhow must win if we want to even sniff the playoffs.

Palmer goes for 420 and 4 TDs.

Fitz has 220 yards and 12 catches.

im not convinced they can be La Petite Academy until they get rid of the bums they have playing CB. I have never ever been as down on this team as I am right now. God, I hope they prove me wrong...this is getting depressing.

Yep and Gettleman sucks for not drafting him and 200 other OTs that went on to bust or regress... but why stop that narrative now.

Boo! Gettleman doesn't know what he's doing! Boo!

He didn't last until our pick anyway, so.............can't really say poo.  Plus, it's his second season, lets not act like Shaq Thompson is killing it in his second season either.

Actually Humphries is one of the only OTs I've ever heard Gman talk about.  I think had he dropped to us we probably draft him.

Just detach man.  Its not worth the stress.  This year was wasted hopefully we can learn from it.

That's because Shaq isn't playing starter minutes. Davis is still the starter. Next year though.

He did recently.  Didn't he get 90% of snaps vs. New Orleans?  Something like that.  I'm too busy to check.  Shaq has been getting some significant playing time...

Sooo....You bring Shaq's name into the discussion.

Ah, excuses.  Sounds like a Panthers coach.  Well done.

Then....When someone brings up a fact about Shaq. This is your response?

Well done, well done indeed.

It's not a fact.  He's had plenty of PT.  He just isn't good.  I agree, keep arguing though, kid.  You'll get it one day.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
