We have the least productive number 2 WR in the league?

Damiere Byrd is a better WR than Philly. How he still doesn't have a jersey is beyond me. Just another example of the coaching staff holding this team back. The next example will be when Oher comes back and Williams goes back to the bench.

Ah yes Mike Wallace... another one of these older guys that the Huddle said was washed up and done... add him to the list of guys like Crabtree, Brandon Marshall and Anquan Boldin

Three this...

1) The set up is wrong, wrong, wrong. The starters need to be Benjamin and Funchess with Philly as the number 3. Ginn is good for the long ball, but again Rivera shows his dumb loyalty to veterans.

2) Olsen pretty much is our number 2.

3) The harsh truth is that KB coming back has hurt the other receivers. Cam looks to KB, then to Olsen, then to KB. Last year Cam was forced to spread the ball around. What's sad is Funchess was finally putting it together late last season and has more makings of a true #1 WR.

But hey, the problem is not a lack of talent. So no herp derp about using high picks on WR's, cool :)

Olsen is our 1....most targets, most receptions, most yards.

It makes the debate about the #2 wide receiver almost pointless.

If you compare Ginn and Funchess production per snap count  to other receivers it's bad, really bad.

If I recall only Tavon Austin is worse

right but snap count might not be a good indicator- because we spread our WO's out a lot and then run the read option

To sum this thread up...

What about the #1 WR production being so low?

Well, Olsen is our #1 WR.

Okay. Then how do you explain that extreme lack of production from the #2 WR.

Well, Olsen is our #2 WR.

So, what about the TE production if Olsen fills the WR role?

Well, Olsen is our TE. Everyone knows that.

Seriously? Alright. How do you explain the lack of edge protection against pass rushers?

Well, Olsen is our blocker in the back field.

You must be insane or in complete denial! Does Olsen run the ball and pass the ball too?

No. Don't be silly. *laughs* Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart are one of the best running games in the NFL. Only an idiot would think Olsen can fill every role on the offense for any given play. *laughs*

Not sure how Ginn, Funchess and Brown can't get open when you have OLSEN and KB.

I recall Funchess being wide open at least twice Sunday and Cam missing him badly both times. Whenever Cam doesn't throw to someone does not automatically mean they are not open.

Looking through every roster and I'm trying to find someone with less production than Ginn or Funchess. Maybe the Browns since Coleman is injured.

We should of signed Mike Wallace

Ginn has 334 snaps. Philly, 320. Funchess has 287. So, first consider that Funchess isn't even the WR2 like you think thst he is. Consider that Muhammed Sanu has 437 snaps, and Michael Thomas has 466, and you will see the numbers of what a true WR2 looks like.

Now perhaps our receivers just aren't up to par. Maybe. Then again, Perhaps we just haven't made the commitment to one guy being the WR2 because of philosophy. I don't know. I would like more consistency with the receivers on several fronts, but until we get some new blood and/or a new philosophy, I wouldn't bet on the level of production of one guy skyrocketing anytime soon. It's not who we are.

I really want to know whose keeping track of the snap count cause if you watch the film it's clear as day Funchess gets more snaps than Philly. Unless Philly is playing special teams

Either way we need to upgrade our receiving core. Mike Wallace would have been perfect

Nit pick two plays, what about the slant in the end zone where the DB got in front of Funchess? Funchess only catch came on a really slow developing route in which Cam had to hold it to the last second.
