If he has a concussion, I think Kuechly should consider retiring.

Late last night while I was watching the game, I fell asleep, so I didn't see the injury when it happened.  So when I woke up, I was disturbed to see two things.  One, on a lighter note, the Saints almost came back and beat us.  Two and most importantly, I woke to Sportscenter talking about a possible concussion for Kuechly.  I was thinking 'Man, what happened?'.  That's when they showed the replay and I was surprised to see the hit looked like a regular/everyday football collision.  His head wasn't even contacted.  The only thing I could compare this to in being injured on routine type plays is Romo, who injured his shoulder after a routine sack from Thomas Davis last year, or Romo being injured in the preseason against Seattle.  Yet this isn't a back or shoulder we're talking about here, this is Kuechly's brain.  If he gets concussions from plays like the one last night, knowing the tough player he is in general I believe he should retire, as hard as that would be for him.

Luke got hit directly in the face and then hit by TD at the end. Neither looked particularly bad, but he definitely had some direct head contact resulting in sharp changes of head direction.

In both slow and fast motion, I didn't see any particular violent whiplash with his head and neck.  That same play occurs hundreds of times throughout a football game.

Again, I didn't see major whiplash or anything like that.  Actually what I thought from seeming the replay, if he has a concussion, this might have been more of a cumulative build up than just the one play causing it.  I believe if he does in fact have a concussion, that it causes him to miss a game, he should retire.

Neither contacts were very major, but concussions are inertia-based and sudden stops can be just as bad as exaggerated whiplash. I'm not really arguing so much as agreeing that it's possible that there is more to this than the wiay the contact appeared to happen within that play. Scary for Luke either way.

Leonard Johnson's injury is almost as concerning as Khalil's. That guy is a big reason why this defense has started to take shape again. We could maybe squeak through a couple of games with Klein instead of Luke, but without Johnson the Cooper Crabtree duo will torch us.

If Oher and Khalil are both out... Forget beating Oakland and Seattle. I'm just hoping Cam returns from the West Coast in one piece.

Here is what someone wrote in a comment about Luke's injury:

"Involuntary crying/laughing is sometimes the body's response to a concussion.. especially if it's on the severe side. The impact doesn't look like much, but most people don't get it. It's not the impact with the RB's helmet that does the damage. It's the back of Kuechly's helmet hitting his own player and snapping his head back forward. Guarantee THAT'S where the concussion occurs."

I offer this only as a comment, not trying to be a physician.  I tend to believe it myself, and given Luke and Cam's multiple concussions, I am beginning to wish they would both retire. This is so not worth it.
