Yep. Let's not forget everyone was being critical of Rivera and Cam for being too aggressive - forcing a throw on that pick six late in the game, and then trying to score with under 30 seconds left.

I was glad they were going for it. I was just mad at the dumbass play call, throwing toward the middle of the field with ~30s to go.

Vikings didn't beat us soundly. Take away the questionable call on KB on Fozzy's long TD and we easily win that game.

He had an entire quarter to try and tie the game and we couldn't. It not like they beat us by a last second FG when where up the entire game.

And if you want to get real technical, we should of lost to the rams. If it wasn't for the drop TD and missed FG. And Keenum over throwing wide open receivers.

We actually didn't go all that conservative at the end of the Chiefs game.

We were slinging it downfield. The problem was we were backed up in our own territory more often than not and had little run game to speak of due to our overmatched OL. To top that off receivers were dropping passes.

Biggest factor of why we are where we are is a lack of consistent run game. When you can run at will, other things fall into place, and you aren't put into constant disadvantageous situations.

THIS..

I grow tired of people talking about the pass game. Our run blocking has taken a step backward and Stewart needs a young partner in crime!

    • The framing continues to be if you disagree with this top 10 play making….its then somehow spun as denying his improvement or hating. if you take Bryce’s career and exclude his last 2 starts……there really is no objective argument that isn’t a bottom tier starter to date. Is yeah, it’s cherry picking, recency bias and his surprising inability improvement driving it into a bit of silliness.  Literally nothing argued here except the top 10 stuff is overkill.   But it’s also the same time of year when folks can get bashed for saying Frank is a bad hire, Fitterer sucks and should be fired with Rhule, Ben McAdoo was a joke hire for a staff that forced into rejects, Rhule doesn’t know what he is doing and clearly exposed when reporters got into camp, the Sam/Baker comp and not picking one is dumb, and on and on.  Lot of frankly conservative takes are spun as wild hate this time of year.
    • Doing a little digging and it looks like PFF didn't penalize him for the XL drop during that Chiefs game.  I also think the moral of the story is most teams aren't chunking it 20 plus yards for completions multiple times every game.  Hit a couple of those and you can be one of the top "deep" ball passers that week.
    • Of course he needs to put together a full season and there is no reason to suggest he won't. His progress last year was great and unless you think he has already reached his ceiling he should continue to get better. That is why folks are excited for the first time in years. Who knows what will happen but to have a qb who finished the year playing excellently and is only going into his 3rd year, you need to be excited. At least until we have reason to think differently.
