What a foolish play call on the opening series in this part of the field with your back up QB. No wonder the players are showing a lack of effort. Hell, the coaches aren't even trying anymore.

Would have to watch the play again but I don't think tub of goo was the first read on that play? It looked like he was the check down option. I mean I hate Shula as much as anyone but I don't know if it's accurate to say that the play was drawn up to go to Tolbert

Yeah imo it was definitely a designed play.   It was stupid, because it never works, and also, because of the field position.   It's also not a play you call first for a QB that hasn't seen the field in a real game in weeks.

Not really. It's an easy 4 yard gain on 1st down if Tolbert doesn't go full retard. Play was fine. Tolbert is a failure.

It's an easy int return for a TD, actually.    Especially a team that cannot run the screen to save their lives.

Tolbert fuged it up, but honestly the ball should've never been thrown in the first place. Even if Tolbert makes the catch he's going nowhere. All risk, no reward.

Play call was fine, with a back up QB you'd anticipate a run, DA did his job, Tolbert just began to look up-field before looking the ball into his hands. 

IMO it not only epitomizes Tolbert's play this season, but it captures our entire season to this point in one play. 

I'd like to see a HC change, but given the off-season change of plans prior to this season/injuries, and a 15-1 season/SB appearance he's going to get at least one more season. However, Shula HAS TO GO!
