By far the most painful season of my life

i watched the season finale in -30 degree weather to see dwayne jarrett catch the only touchdown of his career. that that was the high point of the entire season says everything you need to know.

Some of these fickle fairweather fans here, and on the Panthers Facebook page deserve to have to witness an eternity of Jimmy playing QB.

These people think they've earned a successful franchise. No you haven't. Not acting like a belligerent negative jackass that can only handle the highs, only to turn into a grown up version of Ralph Wiggum when we lose. I f*cking loathe these fans.

Im still salty for Matt Moore. He clearly was, is, and always will be better than Jimmy Clausen and Fox literally tanked a season just to play him.

You do realize Matt Moore started the first 2 games of 2010, and then was given another 3 games starting stretch mid season.

We all knew 2010 was a tank year before it even started. They used 2010 to let both Moore and Clausen compete for the QB job in the 2011 rebuild. They both failed to show up in their audition, and Cam Newton was drafted as the QB for the 2011 rebuild.

I remember wanting the Panthers to give Armanti Edwards a shot at QB because Moore and Clausen were both awful.

Gettis on the other hand was looking very good until the injury. It is always distressing when a strong player like Gettis, Jeffers, or Biakabatuka are cut short by injury. A healthy Gettis would out play any WR from the Panthers 2016 roster.

anyone who complains about cam's worst day being 200 yards and a TD need to go watch every single game of that godforsaken season. 200 yards and a TD was a great fuging statline for pickles

I'll never forget the feeling of impending doom whenever that squad was backed up against their own goal line.

lol what a throwaway season

You finally had a post I could some what agree with then you take it to the extreme.

In hindsight he had 1 really good game as a rookie (49ers) and he had a big play against Baltimore that accounted for 88 yards. He did play with some terrible QBs but come on.

Same, I wanted Golden Tate, out of all the Clausen "highlight" videos, the only thing that stuck out was Tate making great catches on bad throws haha

Tate and Michael Floyd bailed him out all the time. I went to a few games that year. Clauses threw like 33 tds...most of them Hail Marys to Tate and Floyd and they'd always make these circus grabs. I thought for sure Floyd would be a star.

He is. He's going to be in every police training video until the end of time. The police don't get enough credit for how they handled that situation.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
