Should we exercise 5th year option on Benjamin?

The ACL injury robbed him of a year of development and the offensive struggles that snowballed from Week 3 on forward collected him as well. If his production this season is the basement, then we'd be foolish not to see where his ceiling could be with an extra year.

When the toxic huddle crew turned their attention form 24/7 gettleman bashing to trashing KB, I had to limit my already small huddle viewing period. "Trade him for 3rd or 5th", they said, "NO just outright CUT his bum-arse"...... I feel like this is a test to my opened mind theory. Problem is LOTS of people that should remain silent rather than voice their ultra-derp-low-IQ opinion. As many have state here, he had similar year to his 14 panther record breaking rookie year! I cannot wait til he has bigger 2017 year.

2nd year receiver coming off a torn ACL. He was 59 yards shy of another 1000 yard season with a lower drop rate than Deandre Hopkins and Odell just to name a few.

 Easy decision.

And on an offense that runs the ball a lot more than the average team and when they did throw the ball, the qb ended up on his backside quite a bit.

KB will be extended, there is little doubt of that.  Funchess is the questionable one.

I thought you were saying it hard more to do with desire than technique. I agree and I think that says that we aren't working hard on the fundamentals of WR blocking. You can't tell me after that stiff arm that KB couldn't destroy Grimes on a run block. Every time I watch our WRs it seems like they don't know what to do.

The want to comment was more like a mind set behind blocking.  Without that, technique wouldn't help.  What good is training if you don't use it.

that said, I've seen the want to on occasion so that tells me technique is also an issue, as well as the play designs.

Having guys like KB running routes with 2-3 moves and options on everything I would imagine it's easy to get mixed up on what the defense is doing.

short story long, 5th year option is def the way to go.

    • Let's pause a sec and rewind. The hype for Bryce Young before we drafted him was beyond anything I've seen in a long time. If you're trying to tell me now after all the hoopla about his ability to make those around him better and the comparisons to hall of fame players across different sports leagues that him taking the next step this year fully hinges on Adam Thielen then we're probably already doomed. Thielen is not going to keep any defenses up at night. He has good hands and very low YAC. We have 4 young WR's ahead of him with potential that need crucial development and we certainly need to find out what we have in them sooner rather than later because regardless of what transpires this season the QB room should undoubtedly be getting a hard reset. Those reps need to go to the young WR's regardless. Bryce needs to step up and take ownership of the relationship between himself and his young receivers. That's why we drafted him.
