Ok, so with the BPA theory... Show me your Panthers draft big board (or, in my initial post, the top 30 prospects)

No one turns in the card faster than we do, and I imagine that'll be the case yet again.

The only trade scenario I like at all is to Buffalo at 10 for their high 4th.  That's it.  I want to be in the top 10 and I want to be in front of New Orleans!!!

If Barnett or Fournette aren't available maybe the Bills want to jump the Bengals after they release Pacman for a CB or Cam Robinson.  Or maybe both Barnett and Fournette are both available and we know the Bills are jumping the Bengals for a different player, therefore guaranteeing we still get one of the two ahead of the Saints even if the Bengals then trade their pick.

Both possible, but unlikely.  I predict we'll set a world record at card turn in speed this year.

1. Myles Garret
2. Jonathan Allen
3. Leonard Fourette
4. Malik Hooker
5. Mitch Trubisky
6. Jamal Adams
7. Derek Barnett
8. Mike Williams
9. Quincy Wilson
10. Reuben Foster

Sooooo, we could probably draft five out that ten.

I would think Carolina should be able to draft a very talented RB and TE prospect in this draft.

I think we could do that without using our first.  That is my hope for the draft.  Dave does that and uses the first pick on something that isn't one of the above or a DT, LB or QB.

I'm gonna do BPA relative to who makes sense for the Panthers and who could realistically be on the board.  My top two players are Myles Garrett and Jonathan Allen, and I'll be shocked if either of those fall out of the top five.  I think right now there's a realistic chance literally anyone else falls to 8.  My BPA for CAR

  1. Jamal Adams, S, LSU
  2. Dalvin Cook, RB, FSU
  3. Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State
  4. Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
  5. Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
  6. Taco Charlton, DE, MIchigan
  7. Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

Would be ecstatic with any of the top four, I think any of them will be instant playmakers from day one and perennial pro bowlers.  I have concerns with some of the others, but still really like them as prospects.  Barnett is a guy I continue to be more and more turned off by, I like Charlton and his upside better right now.  I could definitely see DG looking to trade down.  With so many QB-needy teams, if a team like ARI or HOU falls in love with a QB that falls such as Kizer, Trubisky, Allen, Watson, etc they could throw a very solid package to move up.  Especially with Buffalo two spots behind us, and the Bills will probably be taking a QB early in the draft.  We could move down to the middle of the first, probably pick up an additional second and take Charlton/Barnett or even a Cam Robinson in the middle of the first.  Could see that being a very enticing option especially if neither of the safeties is there.

I got a growing feeling that Jonathan Allen will fall to us and we won't be able to help ourselves

Gosh we better SPRINT to the podium with that card.  Ridiculous talent.  With this being said, won't happen unless something crazy happens in his combine or off the field

Umm, you just described the NFL draft and every position. A position is deep when there are more good prospects than normal. This year, that is the case for TEs, no doubt about it. There could easily be 4 or 5 solid TEs and a couple really good ones from this draft, but you never know. Heck, this draft could have a Greg Olsen and a Jimmy Graham or they could all bust.

OK, I understand. I just believe that if you're going to make a run at a TE, you may as well get the more sure prospects. Olsen and what he does has been central to this offense and Cam's success. Not that you can replace Olsen, but we need to put our best foot forward. What that usually means is trying to acquire someone on day one or two (preferably in the second, but no later than the third), because if you look at the best in the game today, and even historically, that's likely where they came from. Can we get lucky and/or develop a potential beast from day four? Sure! But historically the odds are against us. Now if we're going to half step for another year or two---get a Band-Aid---I may be OK with trying to make a run at Jared Cook. Even then, I'd prefer a higher pick be invested in that position at some point.

BTW, what makes Hunter Henry so appealing is how complete he is. Can that be said about your 11 in this year's lot?

I'd take OJ Howard at #40 for sure. I'd consider Leggett as well. Those are probably the only two though. No way I'd take Butt with him having to rehab an ACL. Depending on how we evaluated him, I'd consider him starting with our late 3rd compensatory pick. Not before then though.

Njoku is a 4th rounder at best IMO. He's just way to inconsistent with his hands to take any higher and we already have too many guys with iffy hands.

"Continued to be turned off" off by Barnett?  His most recent performance was utter domination vs Nebraska.  http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/2016/12/30/tennessee-vols-barnett-nebraska/96004968/

He was nothing but classy in bowl game press conferences and in his draft announcement.  Wtf?!

If Deshaun Watson repeats last seasons performance vs Bama he will shoot right back up IMO.

I think a team will take a shot at him pretty high in the draft and also Kaaya and Trubisky will be taken surprisingly high, Trubisky could be the first QB off the board (I am assuming he declares for the draft). DeShone Kizer could also come out and push someone down to us. There are multiple QB needy teams in this draft, people get stupid and desperate when it comes to that position.  Good thing is that if enough of these guys do well at the combine teams ahead of us may reach to grab some of them and tumble a few guys down to us in the first or second rounds.  Not saying it will happen this way as gospel but I can certainly see it happening in some form or fashion and pushing someone down to us we thought was out of reach previously.

Everybody keeps saying Adams and Hooker will be off the board by the time we pick. Can you guys just shut the fug up??? Seriously. Adams went from being a Top 25 pick to a Top 5 pick in a matter of seconds, and apparently so did Hooker. The teams above us need QBs, WRs, RBs, DBs and DL too. They don't all need safeties.

Relax.

Garrett, Allen, Trubinsky, Foster, Tabor, M.Williams, and Kizer are all slated to go before him.

I haven't seen anyone say with any definitiveness that Adams and Hooker will be gone, just that they could be. According to some mocks by professional analysts, the Jags and the Chargers have a definite need for safety, and they've mocked Adams or Hooker going to the Jags, with the other to the Bolts.
