depressed? I hope that's an exaggeration. After having the #1 offense, falling to #15 for one year doesn't get you fired. I can't believe people actually thought he would be fired. Now if things continue to go downward next year, then maybe. Hopefully things were learned from this season and changes will be made. All I care about is improving the offensive line.

I hate you.    Well, not really.  Just had to vent.

And I call it, letting your frustration get the better of you. It's OK, fans are allowed to be emotional. The problem with all that emotion? It can get in the way of your critical thinking. So you have a tendency to over-state things, and call out other fans for not supporting you.

Us level headed types? We see what you see, we just don't go overboard, or try and make them sound worse than they actually are. AND, we can actually see some positives in the situation.

For instance. I see a team that was just a few plays away from having a winning season. A team with plenty of money to spend, for the first time in our GMs stay. With pretty dang good draft position. Plenty of reasons to be excited.

You see a team in disarray. A team that is underperforming. A team that needs changes. You are so steadfast in this belief, you cannot see a bright future through all those clouds.

This.

I see a lot of teams interested in the defensive coaching staff even in a down year

i see zero interest in any member of the offensive staff, despite the statements of but '3 NFC South titles and a Super Bowl trip and top, scoring offense  and those injuries'

that should tell everyone on this board all they need to know.

Not everyone is comfortable over selling something to make a point. A FEW teams are asking for interviews, no where near a lot. But I get it. A few, is no where near as impelling.

So what you are saying is that if our OC isn't getting any HC interviews, he must suck. Kind of a reach to me, but hey, no one says you cannot think outside the box.

Some folks seem to realize that Shula, and by extension Cam, run pretty much what Rivera wants. Ground and pound, work the clock, and rest his Defense. FGs are good, but if you can get me a couple TDs a game. We good.

While a lot of folks seem to look past that fact. They just want to throw around blame. And Shula is as good of a target as any.

In conclusion. Nothing I say, will sway any Shula hater. They want him gone, and nothing will slake their thirst but a Shula firing.

The big issue is the offense that Shula runs requires a top notch oline. One that can keep pressure away for 6 or 7 seconds. We don't have that. If we had Oakland or Dallas line the plays called would work

6 or 7 seconds is a very long time in the nfl

We had #1 scoring offense but #11 offense overall (+22 turnover ratio played a big role).  Shula is mid table OC.  You need very good D to win championship with him.

Out dedense was not the problem in the super bowl

I am not a hater of people

I am a hater of mediocrity

i believe Shula performs to the best of his ability; however, I feel a change in strategic thinking and play design is needed and also someone to truly coach Newton and maximize.

I do not believe Shula alone is that person. At the very least an offensive consultant is needed

Its ok if you believe differently

Are you saying we are only a different offensive coordinator away from being super bowl contenders in 2014 and 2016?

    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
    • Willis was impressive last night given the circumstances. GB and SF seem to just have it figured out as far as QB goes.   It's frustrating, but I enjoy seeing our old players find success elsewhere.
