If Christian McCaffrey was black, he would be a top 10 pick

LOL, I do think there is SOME bias as he's a honkey, but I don't think it's that much.

McCaffrey is a fluid player, moves exceptionally well, catches better than most of the WRs, and can kill it as a return specialist.  Is he a 3 Down RB?  Can get get you 3rd and 1 consistently?  Can he take a 300 carry season?  While it's not uncommon for a smaller back to dominate in college, even D1, it's another thing for them to do so in NFL.

I just don't think he's got the build to take getting beat up 25 carries a game for 16 game season.  Now I do think that he's a wonderful weapon.  Play him in space, screens, get him the ball on the edge, change of pace, he's worth a mint.  But you need a creative offensive coordinator to make it work.

He will probably be a Packer or Seahawk and torment us for the next 10 seasons

If he goes to someone who can use him as a mismatch player, he's going to continue to be a human highlight maker.

Could be somewhat true I think it's more so to do with him not being an every down back. When's the last time a rb with his skillset went that high at all? From a scat back receiving standpoint dion Lewis and sproles got drafted in the 4/5 round but McCaffery is bigger than the other two but not as fast.

On second thought it seems more of a reach honestly.

    • So funny see people continue to talk like Darnold isn’t one of the best QBs in the NFL for the second season in a row. Two different teams and situations, he is for real and not just a product of the system.   He struggles under pressure lol what QB doesn’t? Did anyone watch Mahomes in the SB?
    • While I was aware that Horn does not shadow WR1 I learned something interesting in the game from one of the announcers ... Horn ALWAYS plays the short side of the field.  As in, he will switch sides when the ball moves from one hash tag to the other. It seems intuitive that short side of field equals easier route coverage (correct me if I'm wrong) and expanding further I wonder if Mike Jackson was put into that role would his stats improve? If Horn is such a shut down corner, why isn't he just following the biggest WR threat around the field? Is there something inherently harder about covering the short side of the field?  Why make life easier for your best CB?
    • I wonder what the true state of Chuba's calf is? I remember it being mentioned a couple of times last year that it was something they were managing then after the Cardinals game last year we put him on IR. He then reinjured it this year. That would seem to explain why he looks slower and less explosive than in years past. Chubas running style was a one cut explode through the hole type of back and it just doesn't look like he has that ability right now.
