He was a 1000 yard 12 td receiver with the Jets before injury. He doesn't suck.

Too many Panthers fans are obsessed with this idea of a #1 WR? What does that #1 look like?

I would never trade that salary but if he wanted to come on the cheap I think it would make our whole WR group better especially on 3rd downs

So why not just say that in the first place?

I'd love to have this Julio Jones/Megatron borderline mythical uncoverable monster of a WR that Panthers fans dream of when they talk about a #1 WR, but there's just not many of them out there. Chances are we won't find one during Cam's career. Sad, but true.
