Chad Router Mock Draft 6 Rounds (4/14) (Yet Another Mock with McCaffrey at 8)

[Hoenheim]

P8 : Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

P40: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri 

P64 : Julien Davenport, OT, Bucknell 

P98 : Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington 

P115: Brian Allen, CB, Utah

P152 : Nazair Jones , DT, North Carolina

P192 : Kieonta Davis, DE, Chatanooga 

I'm not familiar with the last 3 people mentioned. I don't know if I really like any of these picks besides McCaffrey and Kupp, especially with Charles Harris looking more like an OLB at 40 when picking a saftey there would make much more sense if we decide to go DB in the early 2nd. Our late 2nd seems a bit high for a project tackle pick but okay.

Since Kupp has barely been talked about on this board with Goodwin and Henderson looking more like the Panthers favorites for 2-4th round WR prospects, I'll write about him a little. Kupp, not a speed demon , but a very good pass catcher and route runner with good size at 6-2 ,  NFL bloodlines just like McCaffrey. Played in the FCS , but posted absolute monster stats even if the competition level wasn't the same you dont just waltz into over 6000 recieving yards 73 (WTF?) receiving touchdowns. He's kinda old for a WR just joining the NFL (He'll be 24 by the time the season starts), but I bet his age and maturity help him out. I think would be a great compliment to McCaffrey from an offensive standpoint in this draft, at minimum really challnege funchess for that #2 spot or at worst be our first WR coming off the bench.

I'm not familiar with the last 3 people mentioned. First four picks are pretty solid, I don't know about Davenport at P64 though, this seems to be the spot where most mock draft people have us selecting whatever project tackle happens to be on the board.

McCaffrey can catch passes but he isn't a WR. Kupp has massively better hands than both Funchess and Kelvin and runs smooth routes. Admit kinda risky with him playing in the FCS, he's going to see a gigantic talent spike in defenders he goes against.

1st 2 picks are good the rest suck.. If you get Mac at 8 i'd rather get a TE before another WR..

Well the draft isn't nessearily about people you like personally as picks. After seeing the results of 2016 draft, I didn't like any of the picks until I actually got to see Bradberry play in some games. 

I was mad when we picked Butler last year, but if we pick Allen at 8 this year I'll probably flip a table. Sure BPA is nice and all but if you keep going BPA in the trenches in the high rounds, you're eventually going to suffer talent wise in the skill positions .

Naz Jones is a good prospect. He'd fit well in Butler's place in the rotation as the backup three technique when Butler becomes the starter after we let Short walk.
