The McD/Bills/Beane Conspiracy Has Gone National

Correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation. Yeah, it looks questionable on the surface, but gotta remember McD is largely a product of the Gettleman-era Panthers. He has a better idea of who we're going to like than anyone in the league not currently employed by the Panthers and being a product of us, its logical to conclude that he's probably going to like some of the same prospects. I'm sure getting ahead of us was a primary driving factor of those trades, but I doubt it was due to any Beane conspiracy. That's a career ender for Beane if word got out about that.

It's a huge black eye for McD also.  If your name ain't belecheat that stuff will likely haunt you.

Just goes to show no one fears JR in the NFL. He is the biggest pushover owner.

Word is on the street, you say that to his face and he will reach down and pull your liver out and show it to you.

He's done it before man... and I mean recently.

Even if Beane gave him our entire draft info
1) we meet up once every 4 years
2) it's flattering that other teams want to emulate us

Well let's say the Bills loved Zay Jones and so did the Panthers.. If Beans goes and tells the Bills this then the Bills know they have to jump in front of us if they want Zay Jones. I think that's more of how it would impact us

Slow connection so can't read whole thread.  My main concern is not McD or the bills but our own lax internal security.  From this situation to other "leaks" to the niners being in our playbook in the NFCCG all the way back to the patriot Super Bowl. We always seem to be the victim of loose info and I hate it.

I enjoy a good conspiracy but this one seems a tad much. I mean, of course McD knew what players we wanted, we scout all year long, it's not just when the season is over. He probably knew our favorites and though "gee these guys are good, il get them before they do"

Just because our draft still went well doesn't mean it couldn't have been better, and even if we don't recognize the harm done because we don't know the difference, doesn't mean that action shouldn't go unpunished.

The attitude that it doesn't matter because we appear to be unaffected is a huge problem with the world at large today. You don't let poo pass you by because you're ok. Wrongdoing should be punished or else it turns into more down the line and when it does affect us, they can point to all the times we did nothing. It's short sighted.

I like Moton and Samuel too, not sure if Jones and Dawkins would be better, but the thing is we'll never know. If Gman would have taken those two guys over the ones we got, then I have to say I'd rather have our top choices. We can rationalize the picks as good anyway because we're fans, and honestly I feel like they'll both be great anyway. Lets not pretend that the guys who we would have taken sucked because we didn't get to take them-- reserve that for NFCS. There's no logic to saying that Zay isn't as good as Samuel, even though if we were given the option of both, we'd have taken Zay. Clearly the decision maker whose talent evaluation we all ultimately rely on would have made a different choice, so yeah I couldn't say Zay is worse. This all relies on the leaking being true though.

I'd also like to posit another idea-- what if Beane was a double agent? The FO was apparently jumping and cheering when we got to select Samuel. Maybe Beane fed them Zay as the target and allowed our guy to drop. Maybe we had both similarly graded, but Samuel fit better.. who knows.

meh, let it burn. start over.

The jumping twice was one thing but the LB Vallejo that we passed on.....that was weird Bc the new hottie who was guessing our picks right had us loving him.  Then next you you know bills picked him.  That just made me make that post about the mole....:Beane could have easily told them this kid is a player take him.

So could anyone else who was in the know or who had heard rumors.  Some of you don't need much to smear another man's name.

    • If Canales comes back and Bryce doesn’t I would probably prefer to bring in 3 guys he likes from around the league or maybe outside a top ten pick and work through them, give that a shot. Because if we win a few more games we won’t be in the running for the top rated QB prospects anyway.
    • You mean tepper but yeah I agree about rhule   Baker is a top 3 potential qb that is play for mvp and he is doing it with a slew of injuries
    • There’s too many to reply to so I’ll just say a couple more things then I’m out: 1. It hasn’t been both ways and that’s the point. People saying stuff like “too bad Bryce Young didn’t make that tackle” is a direct result of the ridiculousness of blaming Bryce Young for literally everything. I remember one game day thread a poster unironically blamed Bryce Young for JT Sanders flipping onto his own neck and injuring himself. That post was pied. I literally just read a post blaming Bryce Young for XL dropping a ball on a would-be game winning drive last year. This past week, when Tmac bounced a ball off his hands for an interception, Bryce Young was immediately blamed in the game day thread. Alternatively, people who try to give credit to Bryce Young are immediately told that to credit Bryce Young is taking away credit from Rico Dowdle, OL, whoever, and that they shouldn’t be talking positively about Bryce Young because he doesn’t deserve any credit. 2. Yes, there have always been bad posters, the difference is that back then they were largely derided. Bryce Young’s rookie season, when many of us were simply pointing at the train wreck of the whole team and saying it was maybe a little tough to evaluate Bryce Young when he had no time to throw and slow receivers, and just saying basic stuff like “Bryce Young can physically throw the ball further than 20 yards.” There was an attempt made to limit all those opinions to a single thread, by a mod. This is like saying lunatics running the asylum is normal because there have always been lunatics in the asylum. The difference is before they were patients, now they’re in charge. 3. I know for a fact I am labeled as one of the “Bryce Stans” by many of the usual suspects, but the fact of the matter is they have no idea what my position is on Bryce Young because any attempts at nuanced discussion in the past have been so completely pointless due to never being able to get past the hyperbole. How can we have a serious conversation if you insist he is physically incapable of throwing a football 20 yards? Or if you insist that he somehow duped the Panthers into drafting him just by drinking water? Or if you insist that he should be able to succeed behind one of the worst offensive lines I’ve ever seen (rookie year, not now). And I’m not the only one, there are many who have left the huddle because of it and started a discord server, I’m just too lazy for another app.
