Huddle Help! In CLT 1st time ever

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Panthers fans. I just got to Charlotte for a business trip this week. 1st time ever in town. Took some pics of BoA from a distance. I am staying smack dab in downtown right on College St.

Anyone have suggestions for dining? I won't be able to eat breakfast or lunch anywhere, but I'll need dinner 4 nights. Whatcha got for me Charlotte?

Also, any hot spots where Panthers players like to hang? I know probably nobody is here, but I'dlove to run into a player and get a pic!

I think i saw some lineman at my hotel. Lol dude was gigantic but probably not anyone on the roster. He said he was staying here this weekend because he was here "with the panthers" Friday night.

Come to my rescue Huddle!

to be honest the whole city sucks pretty bad unless you're a bro douche or corporate pig

Charlotte used to be a cool place with actual arts and culture but all the cool places have been bought out, demolished and redeveloped with ugly offices, ugly apartments, and stupid nightlife venues. There used to be some really awesome places I loved to spend my time at. Now there are very, very few left.

Some of my favorites...

Intermezzo - Serbian / pizza

Krazy Fish - specialty tacos and cheese grits

Lang Van - Vietnamese

Midwood Smokehouse - BBQ

McKoy's - smoked wings (get them double grilled)

Pinky's - burgers and margaritas

Jack Beagles - chicken tenders with the leg humper sauce

Sir Edmond Halley's - pub food

The Roasting Company - roasted chicken and wraps

You just described uptown, not the neighborhoods in Charlotte.

yes perhaps he should check out the thriving cultural center of....south charlotte!

he can go to McAllister's, then get kicked out of Carmel country club because apparently skinny dipping in the pool is FROWNED UPON IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
