Do You Think We Win a Super Bowl in the Cam/Rivera era?

Decided to make a different thread to break up the monotony of slow news in mid June here ..

So do you believe we will win a super bowl in cams time here ? Or even multiple ?  Its a bit difficult to predict how long Cam will play or if he'll actually be with our team the entire time.

I think we'll win a couple . One within the next 2-3 years and another one when Cams near the end of his career . I know that's saying alot for a franchise that's never won the game .. it's too much to ask for more than 2 , I don't think we have the right kind of habits still that we could turn into a dynasty haha   we've been traditionally too inconsistent and too conservative    .

I'm guessing since Cam taken so much damage from running I doubt he's going to play as long as Brady or Farve, I'd say maybe through 37 , which would mean 16 total seasons (this year will be the 7th)

I think our best chance is within the next 4 years while cam and luke are still in their physical prime . The only real pieces were missing ? A game breaking pass rusher and a true #1 physical WR with mean streak (ex . Julio Jones , Terrell Owens, Randy Moss ) or you could sub that great wr with a great RB that can catch (ex. LeVeon Bell , David Johnson)

I think we should've already won one tbh.  There's been quite a damn bit of talent on this team that's come, gone, and still here from 2012 to now.  We've just had some piss poor luck, piss poor coaching moments, and a litany of other unfortunate circumstances throughout that time.

If our cap hadn't been fuged to hell and back throughout the entirety of Cam's rookie contract, then yes, we very likely would've had one or two by now.  It's kind of funny (more sad, but whatever) that we were the first team to experience the new rookie CBA poo with Cam being #1 overall in 2011... but were never able to take advantage of it in the slightest.  We might be literally the only team that had a good, cheap, young QB that was in dire cap hell even before that QB's big pay day.

But oh well, what can you do.  I certainly think we've still got a good enough team to pull it off, but can't shake the feeling that we really missed out on something special during that time span.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
