How knowledgeable is our fanbase when it comes to the Panthers? Captain Munnerlyn tests that out in the debut of his "Captain's Corner" as he goes around Charlotte testing Panther fans of their football knowledge. You may be surprised at some of their answers.

The stats support his stance. Funchess' 40% catch rate was literally dead last in the NFL last year among WRs with 50+ targets. Only 5 WRs with more than 10 targets had a worse catch rate.

Funchess may have potential, but his on field results thus far make him one of the worst WRs in the NFL.

It's why I'm absolutely baffled when poster mention his name among reasons why they feel good about our WR corps. I sincerely hope hat either Funchess makes a massive leap forward this year or the production of the newcomers leaves him buried on the bench.

Can someone bring up that article again to show how much seperation on average funchess and benjamin were getting last season? Something like 2 yrds or less iirc . This is a prove it or become Kony Ealy type year for Funchess . Benjamin is probably safe as long as he stays in shape hes got a 1000yrd season and close to another one in the two years he played.

    • They will be if they extend Young but I don't think we're there just yet. Morgan and Canales are tied and I don't believe Tepper is going to go look for a new front office for Bryce as things stand.
    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
