I'm not exaggerating when I'm telling you the Panthers' Twitter account is rolling out the full-court press when it comes to McCaffrey content. On Monday morning alone, three of the five Panthers' tweets featured McCaffrey-related content. This is his world -- and we're all just along for the ride.

Listen, I fully understand the strategy and think it's brilliant. McCaffrey is really marketable. I wouldn't be surprised if he leads all rookies in NFL jersey sales this season, and believe he has a chance to lead jersey sales of all NFL players.

A couple of good videos there.  Gee..this guy is quick...his cuts are so fast.  It is going to be a very good year.

He's one of the most exciting college players to come out of this draft that broke Barry Sanders all purpose yardage record, there has not been a comparable hype train for a highly touted top 10 offensive player drafted by the Panthers since Cam in 2011. And look at the first rounders since Cam the only offense pick was Benjamin prior to the McCaffrey pick.   We also have not drafted a running back in round 1 in almost an entire decade , the franchise is not even 30 yrs old. He's also expected to play a huge role in mitigating our oline struggles by being a reliable check down option , and also a huge uprgrade to PR in special teams, not to mention being a home run hitting RB we have not had since the last time Deangelo Williams was playing well on our team.

So from that perspective, it makes a lot of sense actually.

I'm hoping he gets a good chunk of playing time in the pre season so i can see how well his speed and elusiveness translates against NFL caliber defenders . I'm very curious if he can be an effective between the tackles runner at the NFL level too, our line wont be blowing other dlines back 2-3 yards off the ball like when he was at stanford. There's going to be a lot more clutter for him to navigate through and linebackers trying to execute him . So I'm cautiously hopeful .

Well I mean what's not to get excited when you look at Christian McCaffrey's game?

When you take a look at McCaffrey, the closest former player he resembles is Brian Westbrook. However, that comparison doesn't do him justice. He has Le'Veon Bell's patience and LeSean McCoy's running style. McCaffrey's is arguably one of the shiftiest, intelligent, and better between the tackle runningback from his draft class.

Speaking of Le'Veon Bell patience, take a look at the GIF below:

What was supposed to be a no-gainer became a 10 yard run. He waits behind his o-line to develop and hits the hole right when it opens. Afterwards, he shakes off a few defenders to go down the field even further.

This is very common in McCaffrey's game. In a way, he made Stanford's line better with how he waits for blocks to develop. Like Bell, he anticipates that hole to open up with solid pacing, jumping right through it when the moment's right. An intelligent theme in his repertoire.

Again, his elusive nature is what makes him dangerous. He will break defenders ankles and make them miss. He doesn't need power when he has this ability + patience to gain huge yards. McCaffrey gets the same amount of yards any powerback would, but with a lot more finesse.

The notion that McCaffrey won't be able to break tackles in the NFL is absurd. He's shown plenty of examples of knocking away big and strong defenders and break away their tackles. Sure, he'll never be a powerback, but it's not like he'll just flop over on contact.

With his few examples of route running, you'll notice a player who runs with precision and expertise. He catches the ball smoothly and looks like your typical slot receiver.

When you combine all these traits together, along with Jonathan Stewart's power running, Curtis Samuel's running ability, and Cam Newton's threat as a runner, our rushing attack could be the best in the league.

Christian McCaffrey will play a huge role in making our offense great. All of this hype is warranted because his film shows a player who will dramatically change our offense.

Kickoff can't come soon enough.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
