What's happening with the Panthers? Well, this report from 4 months ago might actually be true.

I don't know how GM changes make a team more desirable to purchase. In fact I don't think football has much of anything to do with the value of a franchise. They aren't investing in 3 years of staff and players. They are investing in a market.

Charlotte is one of the worst markets in the sport.  Sure you get your foot in the NFL shared cash, but if this team became the jags or browns because they can't get stability in the front office or coaching staff a lot of these fans would leave.  Forcing the new owner who has possibly lost even more value in the investment to consider relocation, which weve learned is very expensive, or just selling.

Tl;Dr it's a riskier buy unless the buyer would be confident he or she has the ability to build an entire front office from ground zero.

Lol front office moves have zero effect on value.  They're rolling in shared revenue and PSLs ensure they will always have some substantial agree of attendance.  We have two all-time talents on the roster as well.

Regardless, I think Gettleman/Hurney has zero to do with gearing up for a sale.

I doubt this is true but please god let this be true. Get this dumbass out of the franchise and let a competent person take over. Our only chance at sustainable success.

Hey Jerry, thanks for brining a franchise to Charlotte but now please go the hell away. Would be the best news ever.

    • Lol Atlanta looks to have lost their young edge rusher, has no 1st round pick, a complete mess at QB, a new coaching staff… And we swept them this year. Says what they think of us.
    • I mean, you can only go so far with the propping up. When a guy's numbers are as bad overall as Bryce's you have to try to find specific niches to sell. It's just funny that they're honing in on where he's probably weakest to try to prop him up. Whether it's a pro-Bryce conspiracy or not, it echos my chief complaint about PFF's analysis for years. When your purely statistical analysis badly skews from the eye test of actually watching the games, it should be screaming at you that you need to modify your system not double down on it. PFF is awesome at compiling stats but their grade systems are highly flawed and they never seem to try to improve them.
    • Then why is Byce also last in other PFF stats?  The deep ball thrower stat by PFF can simply be flawed vs some conspiracy trying to prop up a QB on a team that a former employee now works for.  Both of these guys were also hired AFTER the Panthers had already drafted Bryce.  Trying to prop him up with a made up stat while he struggled would be a detriment to their own team honestly.
