Damiere Byrd back at it...

Wide receiver Damiere Byrd picked up right where he left off. Two days after Byrd caught two touchdown passes in the preseason opener, quarterback Joe Webb targeted the speedster in the back of the end zone during a red zone drill, and Byrd came down with an impressive contested catch against safety Kurt Coleman.
 

 

Damiere has a ton of momentum going for him right now. Going to be very difficult for Duke or Ross to overtake him.

A very good point made here:

Notice on his second touchdown he gets a ton of separation going horizontally:

That's what you want to see. Not just separation going vertical and down deep, but the ability to go horizontal and separate from corners. 

That allows you to be a vital intermediate threat and shows quickness around the field. Now, I don't know how he'll do in the 0-5 yard area, but he does show good stuff.

All you need to do is go back and watch all of Byrd's snaps from last preseason. 

Yeah he had a couple drops I believe but he was always getting separation.
