Pathetic. The staff was probably worried they'd lose the locker room and let Anderson's contract run out. That or a Hurney extension of Jake proportions to keep poo family friendly. I'm just praying Cam stays healthy...

I'm assuming the reason being is they gave that roster spot to Clay. He can play ST and can make a bigger impact at WR then Webb.

 

I would be willing to bet that Gilbert is going to go to PS

Agree they should have kept Webb over DA, but don't disagree that we only need two QBs.  If they both go down we are running McCaffrey wildcat every down anyway

Webb was buddies with Cam and I think they goofed around a lot together---does that mean he could have been viewed as a distraction?  There is no external reason to think so, but if you look at preseason, keeping Anderson is a head scratcher.

I am guessing that they will put Gilbert on the PS (I agree with the concept of keeping the #3 QB on the PS).  I think they may be thinking that Webb was cutting into DA's reps in practice--leading to the elite level of suckage he seems to have mastered.

This also suggests that Webb's role as a special teamer and #7 WR is no longer needed.

Honestly, even though he played on them, Webb was never a ST's super star either. I like the guy, but I don't really have a problem with this one. I wouldn't get too comfortable if I was DA either though. If he does stay the whole season, I'm confident that this will be his last one.
