Kicking choice is "a fluid process"

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread about it that we had leverage if we were looking to trade one of the kickers BEFORE the cutdown.  Now, we have none.  Teams know its more trouble for us to try to keep both rather than just let one go, and they know we actually want to let one go...  And as you mentioned, there were more reliable options that were released to the market after cuts, so why would they trade for one of ours?

That was my fear, that they were gonna try and play chicken to get a better deal while other options became available that teams could simply pick up with no compensation.

In that scenario, we end up getting nothing.

That's a real possibility right now.

I can't take anymore of this limp dick coaching staff.  They can't make the hard choices because they are job scared which is ironic as lack of clear decision making is usually what gets one fired.

I have zero faith that this crew can deliver a playoff caliber team much less a SB contender.

Exactly.  DG was decisive and bold - good or bad.

RR is as polar opposite as it comes, unless you don't wear a tie on the plane, then he cracks the whip.  I'm really starting to grow tired of the Rivera stare, and lack of any sort of emotion.  He always, always seems absolutely lost on the sidelines.

Hurney scares the crap out of me.

The front office sucks and the coaching sucks. We all know that. Some just aren't ready to admit it

Rivera and co. have sucked for 6 years yet are still here.

Not sure why it takes so many of you so long to realize what's always been right in front of your eyes

I have zero faith that Jerry Richardson has any issue with how either of them do their job.

That's the part that I find scary.

I have always known that. I've said repeatedly that no coach should last through two GM changes. Rivera gets a pass from Jerry and Hurney is getting the same thing.. It all starts at the top

Hurney should scare the crap out of every fan of this team.  The dude just doesn't have it in him to build a complete team.  It's already been proven and it's already rearing it's ugly head just  a couple of months in.  It breaks my heart to see the team I love so much being slowly reduced to rubble by the owner, GM and coach.

But nobody's feelings are getting hurt. So it's okay, right?

I've come to grips with the two kicker solution. It is basically just a way to keep Gano on the hot seat. Either he makes the kicks or they let him go. Probably isn't good for confidence but for everyone who wants Gano gone this is probably a good thing.

Hopefully Gano feels pushed by Butker and it results in a better kicking year.

I've never trusted Ron when it comes to roster decisions and I still have no confidence in his abilities. This is about as cut and dry decision as you can get. You have a young kicker with some upside but you rather go with the guy that has actually cost you wins simply because he's a veteran.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
