The NFL has postponed the Bucs-Dolphins game until Week 11 due to Hurricane Irma.
The teams share(d) a Week 11 bye week and will play the game then. The players now have to play 16-straight games with no off week, which is a big concern for player safety, but Roger Goodell apparently wasn't comfortable moving the game to a neutral site like Pittsburgh of Philadelphia. Fantasy owners need to get their Bucs and Dolphins out of lineups. Tampa will open at home against Chicago next week, with the Dolphins traveling to face the Chargers. Sep 6 - 9:14 AM

16 straight weeks for them, and their fans have to wait even longer for their first game. Hahahaha

The Bucs and Dolphins are both getting screwed and it increases the injury risk to players.  I think it's a horrible decision by the NFL and puts both teams at a disadvantage.  This is almost like a punishment for a potentially devastating hurricane hitting FL.

Do all teams that play in the first week share a bye week? Or did they just get lucky on that?

Edit: just looked up the niners and their bye is the same as ours. Interesting

All teams play week one, so no just luck. Bye weeks are 5 through 11.

What's your solution to the predicament?

Safety is an issue but at the same time does the NFL screw over one team or both. If it would've been moved to a neutral sight that removes any home field opening day advantage the dolphins would've had, not to mention they are already losing one home game by playing in London. That scenario would've had them losing 2 home games giving the advantage to the Bucs.

With this decisions both teams get equally screwed but the playing field is even. This was a Lose-Lose situation and looks like the NFL picked the option that would mess with both teams and not just one.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
