Although I am laughing at a journalistic style error and a grammatical error at thescore.com (specifically using the numeral 5 as opposed to the word, and using "a unimposing"), I do think that they might have hit the nail on the head, at least in the mind of many Panthers fans.  I don't quite know why, but that actually makes me laugh even more, but what the hell are we gonna do now, curse all season? I would say that we should all just hope for the best, but I guess that it is en vogue now to hope for just average as it pertains to Matt Kalil. At least that's what I'm hearing now on the Huddle. This is what Panthers fans have come to...(LMAO.gif)

Anyway, I'm getting back to my limited edition Bud Light---you know, the one with the black aluminium bottle with the Panthers logo.

Yeah, I can't blame Gettleman for signing Kalil given we HAD to do something. There was always a risk it wouldn't work out.

A good portion of the league is struggling to find quality OL, especially tackles. It seems to be a growing concern as far as affecting the overall quality of the NFL product.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see the league change the rules to help the OL's out league-wide, similar to the rule changes they made in 1978 that allowed for OL to use extended arms and open hands when blocking.

I haven't given up on Kalil, mainly because we have no choice. I would however have prefered signing Andrew Whitworth but Getts didn't listen to me.

No he doesn't. And I've defended him on many issues. But as I said two minutes after his signing was announced. This is a dark day in Panthers history. No logical reason to sign Kalil over Whitworth, or even Reiff. Wait until that 9.6M cap hit costs us Star or Norwell.

I'm still a Rivera guy, but I'm wavering. Coming over to the dark side with @tiger7_88 among many others. My absolute disgust hinges upon River dinghy's hanging on to Shula's left cheek as the tide of modern football tries to sweep him away.

Two weeks in. Ryan Kalil wasn't playing, and it showed in the lack of communication.

On the first play, Matt Kalil just completely fails to block the edge rusher allowing quick pressure on Cam and so prevents the easy completion to McCaffrey. While this might look like ineptitude on Kalil’s part - something that cannot completely be ruled out - it is far more likely to be a failure to communicate responsibilities, with Kalil thinking that McCaffrey was meant to be blocking the edge defender.

However, if we only count weeks 1 and 2 without considering the other variables, Matt Kalil's worse than Oher, and it's not even close. But there's a reason the rest of the season is left to play. Let's see how it plays out with everyone healthy and the line developing chemistry.

I mean I thought he did alright against SF. Some here were singing his praises.

Also it's been two games and he just went up against one if the best d-lines in football. There were moments where Cam had all day to throw. He  isn't the problem at this point to me. Better than fuggin Remmers.

Then again, I'm just waiting for more evidence. More than likely Matt Kalil continues sucking, but I'll give him a chance.

Remmers has been better than him for most of his career. Kalil was almost Bell level bad in Minnesota.
