Kurt Coleman Suffered A Sprained MCL - Will Miss Some Time

He will be out the next two games since we play the Eagles on Thursday. With the Bears after that it would make sense to rest him for that game as well and target a week 8 return against the Bucs. Southward will almost certainly be promoted to the 53. We may need another S depending on Cox's status.

Looks like acquiring safety depth is in order.  I hope old Hurndog was paying attention during his GM101 class.

According to sports injury predictor, a DB with a sprained MCL, on average, misses 1.3 weeks.

Average probably doesn't apply to 36 year olds.

But, I've torn both MCLs. Hurts like hell for a few days but gets a lot better surprisingly quickly. These were grade 2 tears. Did the first one when I was about 29 and the second around 33.

Coleman is 29.

Disagree about the Bears. If he's healthy, I don't see why we would rest him for no real reason. It's a sprain, not a tear. I'm fairly certain he'll play if he's ready.

    • Let's be real. Signing Matt Kalil who was at the time inconsistent at best was always an extremely risky move and largely initiated by the fact he was related to one of our most prominent players Ryan Kalil. Memories get fuzzy the longer time passes I guess. Go watch some old Panthers games with Ted Ginn nearly losing us games. Then watch Cam Newton keep going back to him again and again and again. Then read all the Xavier Legette criticism while making excuses for Bryce being swept by rookie 2nd round pick Tyler Shough. Throwing TMac under the bus is just further proof how deranged the Bryce Young defense force has become. Bryce Young can barely compete in this gutter iteration of the NFC South. Let's see him take this WR core to the playoffs in an NFC South with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan
    • IMO, getting rid of Bryce will just reveal how bad Canales is. I would prefer getting rid of Canales so we can also get rid of Bryce. I view them as intrinsically linked at this point.
    • I don't disagree, but honestly, this season has been better than I thought it would be.  At the onset, I think I voted that we'd win 3-4 games (or whatever the stratification was on that poll), and here we are with 7 wins and potential for more.  We're a sack hair from being able to sneak into the playoffs - yes, yes nfc south nonsense but still this season has exceeded my expectations.  If we can somehow move on from Bryce and find some consistency, I believe the Panthers are trending upwards (overall).
