Hat's Off to Matthew Stafford

Recommended Posts

I thought Matthew Stafford showed some real grit and toughness yesterday.

He took a beating like I have never seen by a QB. 6 sacks and a couple knockdowns but he kept getting up and fighting back.  He was one reception away from completing an epic comeback.   As much as I love what our defense did most of the day he was tearing us apart going down the stretch.  He had more tape on him than I knew existed.  Bad ankle, busted leg and blood on his hand.

I am thrilled we won and terrified had he got one more chance.  Thanks Cam and KB.

It was a great win and well deserved but my Hat is off to Matthew Stafford for showing his toughness and competitiveness.  Very much admired.

I like Stafford. We all talk about how our franchise is inconsistent... Cam has more wins in 2 fewer seasons. That organization squandered so many hall of fame careers.

So sad.   They had one of the greatest running backs ever to play the game but did nothing with him.   I think they made the playoffs once (one and done) with Barry Sanders.

    • I remember that post. Way back when we took him, I could not figure out how he could see where to throw it. I had this notion that he was spatially super aware and was really just throwing to a spot, and could do a pretty good job of that even if he couldn’t see it. Clock in your head, timed with the receiver, be exactly there at the right time and he will get the ball there.   I really never could figure out how it was going to work.
    • Looks like our beat reporter is already hinting at it.
    • I would definitely be down with Carolina drafting him in day 3 and using him for sneaks and power packages. That alone would address a flaw from the offense last year.
