My only question regarding Reich:

He's the OC for the Eagles but he doesn't call the plays.  Head Coach Doug Pedersen does that. Reich works primarily on game planning and play design while also helping John DeFillipo coach QB Carson Wentz.

With that said, Reich has, in fact, been credited with a lot of Wentz' development.  Plus he's called plays before, and done it well enough to get head coaching interviews.

Now, worth noting that the Eagles run a system like we do where one coach calls the plays (Pedersen) and another coach relays them to the quarterback (Reich).  Despite this, the Eagles have not had problems getting the plays on to the field and haven't had to call numerous timeouts because they weren't ready.

And I gotta admit, watching the play designs of the Eagles offense, I'm jealous.

The Eagles also have extremely athletic fast receivers who seem to have no problem getting separation and huge plays downfield. We have Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess.

They were known to have subpar receivers last season.  This year, they dumped Dorial Green-Beckham, signed Torrey Smith and Alshon Jeffery.

Arguably their best move though, was to switch Nelson Agholor to the slot. He was considered a bust playing on the outside but he's thriving in the slot.

Position changes that actually work out are a novel concept.

I wanna do what the Screaming Eagles are doing: *everything* crowdsourced.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/17/sports/football/indoor-football-league-screaming-eagles.html

The Screaming Eagles claim to be the first fan-run professional football team in the United States. Using a free mobile app, anyone can vote on nearly all aspects of the new team’s identity and function, including calling offensive and special-teams plays.

“We’re definitely warming to the idea,” Reed said before the team’s franchise debut against the Nebraska Danger on Thursday. “When we first got into it, there were just a lot of guys running around and trying to figure this thing out.”

The experiment did not begin swimmingly. On the Screaming Eagles’ first possession, voters decided on a pass play on third-and-10 from their own 5-yard line. Reed fumbled in the end zone, and Nebraska recovered for a touchdown. Five plays later, on fourth-and-15 from their own 1-yard line, the vote called for a field goal. (The field is 50 yards long.) The kick was blocked and recovered by Nebraska for another score.

That was the last field-goal attempt of the game, which ended in a 78-47 Danger victory.

Before kickoff, voters had already made several decisions, on the team’s uniforms (stripes); an additional concession item (chili dogs); its dance squad’s name (the Lady Eagles); and the team’s warm-up music (“Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” by DMX).

We'd only have ourselves to blame if the play calls suck then, right?

Ask Jim Harbaugh how much money he wants.

As far as NFL only options.... Jim Bob Cooter (Lions OC), Dave Toub (Chiefs ST coach), Matt Nagy (Chiefs OC)...

I would strongly prefer an offensive coach. I think the personnel on defense can get by with whoever. I mean you have the two big guys in the middle, Luke, Addison, Bradberry and Coleman seem solid... they should help us be set if we transition to a new staff. But clearly we need a strong offensive mind to keep the offense going strong. There's no way we should be scoring 3 points with Cam, CMC, Stew, two monster wideouts, Samuel, etc. And then add Olsen in there. There's a dynamic offense somewhere at the end of this equation but we need to find a way to get there and Shula isn't gonna lead the way.

As far as GMs go, I have no idea. Promote Don Gregory for all I care. I think we do a solid job of finding talent most of the time but execution is garbage.

You know McDaniels was the Head Coach at the time the Broncos traded up to draft The Golden Calf of Bristol, right?

He also helped develop Jacoby Brissett who moves around and slings it quite a bit.

I like McDaniels a lot and would love to see him interviewed but saying he prefers stoic pocket passers has no merit.

But it's what he's had the most success with, so there is definitely merit to the thought.  And he's certainly learned his lesson with The Golden Calf of Bristol.  He thought he could teach The Golden Calf of Bristol to play QB, but soon found out that being a solid passer was not in The Golden Calf of Bristol's wheelhouse.  I think he gets the benefit of a dual threat QB, but at his core, he wants a QB that can play with timing, anticipation, and accuracy (especially short-area accuracy).  If he can run as well, then he'll be doing a jig.  But unfortunately, Cam is not a precision passer, so I do think McDaniel would have reservations about him.

Let's go full retard with chip Kelly as oc

We've already gone full retard when we lose to a quarterback with 4 completions and our head coach says he likes what the offense is doing.

id switch for Chip in a moment if we had Wilks as HC.
