The Falcons are saying goodbye to a talented but troubled cornerback.

Jalen Collins has been released, the Falcons announced. Collins hasn’t played at all this season and his 10-game suspension for a second violation of the league’s PED policy just came to an end.

Collins will now be available on waivers to any team that wants him, and it seems likely that some team will want him: He’s a good player, even if the Falcons decided he was more trouble than he was worth. He played in eight games for the Falcons last year, with six starts, and was a second-round pick in 2015.

The team that claims Collins will get him on Wednesday and can play him immediately, so he might help some team down the stretch. Just not the Falcons.

      You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).

      In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
