Steve Smith on Panthers/Vikings

On NFL network this morning.  Basically said the Panthers offense is too gimmicky and won't be able to consistently move the ball against the Vikings defense without a more traditional offense.  Then he said we were never traditional even when he was playing under RR and that's why he was fired by Gettleman.

The "gimmick " being Stew up the middle for about a yard.

He also did say he thought we would get in the playoffs.

Im thinking today will be A LOT like last years matchup but with the Vikes adding an extra touchdown

Panthers offense rates about a 4 and the defense about a 6.  

Vikings offense rates about an 8 and so does their D

Hope I am wrong, but this one could be ugly, like 31-16 ugly

I think we will find a way to win today and will be there cheering us on. Then again I think we are going to win every week and am always surprised when we don't.

He is right, its a lot of gimmicky stuff mixed with boring stuff that doesnt work.  I think it was really gimmicky with chud. Shula mixed in his boring unimaginative style offense with the gimmick plays of Chud, and this is what you get.

Or it might have had something to do with his high salary and the fact that he is an utter asshole to everybody and utterly self-centered.
