Does This Team Really Have What It Takes to Make a Playoff Run?

Our defense has been exposed in many games by the likes of the Jets and Bucs. We've been at best inconsistent and at worst piss poor in pass coverage and with the offense sputtering every game with bad playcalling and execution.

Aye I"m very glad we won this game but its hard to be very positive about this teams prospects in the playoffs. Pretty much any team can throw on us and throw deep, that is a horrible weakness to have.

Wat....

We just had a multi sack multi turnover defensive performance and geld a pretty good offense(11th in league) to less than 20 points. Our offense is ridiculously inconsistent....can't convert on turnovers, leaving points on board, odd playcalling, run game is a wildcard

I’d blame our defensive performance on wilks. Can’t expect to think that blitzing near every third down will work and offenses won’t pick it up and adjust.

Seriously what was that. Add bad tackling.

Injuries in our receiving corp are starting to pile up

The Carolina Panthers are probably the most unpredictable team in the NFC...and possibly the NFL.

I could see us playing in the Super Bowl and possibly winning it depending on who we played.

We’ve beat several teams with .500 records this year including some of the cream of the crop (New England and Minnesota). We were also competitive against the Eagles before Wentz was lost for the season.

I could also see us a 1 and done if our offense plays as poorly as it did in the Chicago loss and the game today and the defense doesn’t hold up on the back end.

I hate saying this, but you never know which Panther team is gonna take the field each Sunday, and that’s why it’s so hard being a Carolina fan :eyeroll:

Disagree, the game plan was actually good today, it took some hail mary voodoo bullshit today.  Atleast 3 times I remember a near sack, winston scramble then chuck a duck.  Those ducks more often than not end badly, Winston managed to go blemish-free in those ridiculous plays.

Cam Newton is good enough to drag us along if Shula gets out of the way.  Every single time he was in a rhythm, shula would suck the air out of the ball and grind the ball with McCaffery.  Secondly, was Stewart injured?  what about CAP?  I saw no runs on their part, especially no productive runs.  We need Turner Back, but we can definitely make a run.

I liked everything you said up to this. I don’t find it hard to be a fan, unlike NeedSumD.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
