Daeshon Hall

So what’s the realistic expectation from our third round pick?  He’s kind of the forgotten man from this past draft class, but is a very important piece at a position where we need a significant infusion of youth and skill.

He only played 9 snaps week 1 and was gone for the year and was never really heard from since.  I don’t remember if he got any hype in camp either, although he did make it to the final 53.

depends on your interpretation of realistic.

i don't know about him against the run, but i like his potential against passing downs. i think he's got a lot of potential to be a good complement to addison on the other side. i'd like to see him in the rotation and used interchangeably with pep if we get him to return.

I think the Panthers better plan on drafting a DE with a high pick or at  least bring in a proven vet. The Panthers defense relies on a strong front 7 so an effective DE is critical.  CJ is done, and Peppers is 37.  Hall is unproven and should not be relied on to be the answer.

He needed to add 15-20 lbs. Let’s see if he did before speculating on his playing ability.

The guy has prototypical 4-3 end size. He's only 6 pounds lighter than Myles Garrett.

Daeshon, just like every other young DE has to get stronger. He was also very inexperienced at DE.

    • I see both sides of the arguments, but compared to last year we're somehow at an upgrade over completely fried Dalton and wasn't even good in college Plummer. At least Pickett and Grier probably have some desire to make more money when Dalton was happy to just go through the motions and I will never understand why they even bothered with Plummer.
    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
