you don’t play ball control against the pats with a 10 point lead and a whole quarter to play out. this is a league where an offense can put up 24 points in a quarter, brady’s one of the guys that can do that.

The refs got this play right. If you make contact during the process of gain possession the play is dead once you retain possession. Also, he was touched.

I would also say throwing a 30 yard bomb when you have second and nine on a key drive is a bad call.  1st down maybe, but second down with a suspect offense, you need to get some yards.

I thought they got it right, but more importantly, the Jag's did nothing after getting it.  They needed to move the ball there, and score.  A TD there would  have all but iced the game.

I forget which game but I remember we failed to get the first down, turned it over on downs and the game was over.

Zero penalties against your offense and defense sure makes it easier to win. Only one penalty for 10 yards on special teams all game, give me a fuging break.

They got out to a lead and retreated into playing conservative. Carolina falls into this trap more than most but New England scares a lot of good young teams this way.

Aren't long routes used to open up shorter ones by taking defenders deeper? QBs generally decide who they throw it to. I have a hard time believing any OC would suggest a play and tell the QB to throw deep and not consider any one open underneath. But that may be too logical for this place.
