Panthers met with Josh Allen

If the Panthers were to draft a QB of the future (and I don't think they will) the ideal target might be Mason Rudolph. He's a Rock Hill kid and a consummate nice guy who, from what I've seen, is expected to go mid first round, maybe higher.

If he were to drop to pick 24, I think you'd definitely have to look at him. I seriously doubt he'll drop that far, so you'd probably have to trade up to get him.

Mind you, stranger things have happened, but this would shock me enough that I'd probably have to worry about someone stepping on my tongue when my jaw drops to the floor.

If he were to drop to 24 than almost certainly someone would want to trade up to get him.  It would be a perfect opportunity to pull off another 1st round pick next year and and 2nd or 3rd this year and maybe more. Depending on how good Hurney is at negotiations.

So, depending on how good the guy who twice traded our next year's first rounder, traded away the 33rd overall pick to draft Armanti Edwards and tried really hard to trade up for Jimmy Clausen is at negotiating?

Oy.

The guy can't throw. You want to stay far away from sub-60% college passers. Cam was ten percentage points better in college. 66% at Auburn vs. Allen's 56%. Allen has BUST written all over him. Everyone wants to compare him to Wentz due to small school and coach, but IMO he's reminiscent of guys like Jake Locker and Christian Hackenberg.

Why not? Look at the Vikings...Eagles...hell even bad luck like Deshaun Watson and the Texans and Packers with Rodgers.

Cam was in a freak accident with a truck a few years back.

Strange things happen.

If Cam was in a bizzare incident, fell in the shower and tore an ACL etc, a few days before the draft.

Wouldnt you want to have options known and kick the tires?

It would be a waste of a vital draft pick.  We have an MVP QB and you don't use a first round pick on a backup. Kick the tires all you want but in the end it is just looking.

One, I would be shocked if he fell that far in round one.

Two. we have far too many other needs than to draft a QB.

Three, if he was there we would be looking for a trade partner to add more picks this year and probably a 1st next year.

Locker was a totally different animal than Hackenburg and Allen...I'd say injuries had more to do with his demise...

The week before the playoff game against the Saints it’s been reported he was at Bank of America from 6 am to 6pm+.

But that destroys the narrative he wants to bring that Cam’s just an emotional lazy sloth. He probably longs for the day we get ourselves another boring, mediocre quarterback and watch this franchise wallop right back to the cesspool it should be in without Cam.

Both you and Red look for things that aren't there. I never said that Cam isn't a hard worker or criticized his work ethic. I simply said that doing repetitive boring tasks over and over which is what it takes to change mechanics after you have done something wrong for all of your life is tough and not fun.  Which if you played sports you could sympathize with. Stop making things up and looking for slights that aren't there or trying to put words in my.posts that aren't there.

Do you have anything remotely factual to substantiate your criticism of his work ethic?

If not, log out and don't come back.

Again no said he wasn't a hard worker. But not everything you have to do is fun or enjoyable and repetitive boring tasks are one of them. How about you  stick to the discussion instead of making things up to argue with when you have nothing to add to the conversation.
